I have been working in my flowers today and as I began to repot them their roots was all tangled and embedded in the soil. As I began to untangle them and put them in the new soil the holy Spirit began to speak to me. During long winter months they become tangled and hang to the old soil. Then when spring comes you take them out of the pot and untangle the roots but you leave them in the soil that they are in and place them in a bigger pot and new soil and fertilizer. Why? so new growth can come on and the plant can shine. If the roots stay tangled soon the leaves will turn and the plant will die.
Ephesians 3:17 came to me." Then you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18will have power, together with all the saints, to comprehend the length and width and height and depth 19of the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
As I read this as I have many times but this time the rooted and grounded meant more to me.
When the storms and trials of our lives come we need to make sure we don't allow our roots to get tangled and become stagnant with the trial and circumstances around us. We must stay grounded in God's word so new soil can come and our roots can grow and we can grow and shine for Jesus. This doesn't mean do away with the soil the plants are in that is where the foundation is. We need the foundation to stand on. Jesus Christ the solid rock. We also need our roots to grow, as our roots grow so does our spiritual walk. We can't stay in the pot or soil that will not allow us to grow into the man or woman can has created us to be.
I hope this spring you will repot yourself and become what God's wants you to be.
20Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, 21to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
