This morning as I was praying I heard the Holy Spirit say, “watch for the churches that are becoming unified. Those will be the churches of outpouring.”

Something is happening beneath the surface.

God is dismantling what has kept His people divided.

He is tearing down walls that were never built by Him.

He is exposing and uprooting the strongholds of offense, jealousy, competition, gossip, suspicion, pride, false doctrine, and division.

God is preparing His Church for another Acts 2.

He is reawakening the Church of Acts.

Before the fire fell in Acts 2, they were together.

“Now when the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.”

Unity was not incidental to Pentecost.

It was part of the environment in which they were positioned to receive what God was about to pour out.

And there is a prophetic call going forth in this hour, watch the churches that are becoming one.

Watch the houses where competition is dying.

Watch the congregations where offenses are being buried.

Watch the people who are laying down their agendas for the sake of His presence.

Watch the places where brothers and sisters are choosing love over suspicion and honor over accusation.

Those are the houses God is preparing for outpouring.

The Spirit is calling the Church back to one heart and one purpose.

Acts 4:32 says, “now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul.”

And what happened when they became one?

“Great power” was released through the apostles.

Unity made room for power.

The enemy has understood this for generations.

If he cannot stop the Church from gathering, he will try to keep the Church divided when it gathers.

If he cannot stop the preaching, he will try to poison relationships.

If he cannot stop worship, he will try to introduce offense.

If he cannot stop the move of God, he will try to get God's people fighting one another while God is trying to pour Himself out.

But this is an hour in which the architecture of division is being dismantled.

The power of offense is breaking.
The voice of gossip is being silenced.
False doctrine is being exposed.
Religious competition is crumbling.

Because heaven is making room for glory.

God is even tearing down the walls that have separated brothers from brothers and churches from churches.

Ephesians 4:4–6 declares that there is one body and one Spirit, just as believers were called in one hope, with one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.

One Spirit.
One Lord.
One faith.
One baptism.
One God and Father of all.

Psalm 133 says, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

There is an anointing attached to unity.

There is a blessing attached to unity.

There is an atmosphere that becomes possible when the people of God stop fighting one another and start contending together.

God is reawakening the Church of Acts.

There will be sound again.
There will be fire again.
There will be boldness again.
There will be conviction again.
There will be repentance again.
There will be miracles again.
There will be signs and wonders again.
There will be salvation again.

And there will be a people who are together again.

Acts 2:42 says they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayers.

Then Acts 2:46 says they continued “with one accord.”

And verse 47 says, “And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”

Unity preceded multiplication.

The Church did not have to manufacture the harvest.

God added to the Church.

And there are houses right now that God is preparing to add to again.

But before He adds to the house, He is dealing with what has been happening inside the house.

Because a church cannot ask God to send the harvest into a house that cannot love the people already sitting in the room.

The Church cannot ask God to send thousands while refusing to reconcile with the ten sitting beside them.

The harvest requires a healthy house.

And God is healing His house.

He is cleansing His house.
He is purifying His house.
He is restoring His house.
He is bringing His people back into one accord.

And when the people of God begin contending together instead of fighting one another, do not be surprised when the wind begins to blow.

Do not be surprised when the fire falls.

Do not be surprised when prodigals come home.

Do not be surprised when miracles begin breaking out.

Do not be surprised when cities begin to feel the weight of His presence.

And do not be surprised when the Book of Acts begins to look less like history and more like prophecy.

I think one of the hardest things for pastors is watching people leave a church because another church has more to offer.

And usually there is nothing sinful about what they are looking for.

Better kids programming.

More students.

More events.

Better “worship”.

More classes.

More options.

None of Those things are bad.

The issue is when those things become the way we decide where we belong.

Because once church is primarily evaluated by what it offers, it is almost impossible for a smaller church to compete with a larger one.

The church is not a product.

It is a people.

The New Testament does not tell us to find the congregation with the most to offer.

It tells us to commit ourselves to one another.

To serve.

To give.

To forgive.

To bear burdens.

To use our gifts.

To grow.

There comes a point where mature Christianity has to ask a harder question than, “What does this church have for me?”

It has to ask, “What would it look like for me to help build what is missing?”

That is the shift from consuming church to becoming the church.
