First Baptist Church Texans On Mission Response Teams

Today, Saturday, May 2, First Baptist Church Marble Falls hosted the Burnet-Llano Baptist association quarterly breakfast. Your Texans on Mission feeding team did the cooking. Robert Wheat the director of missions for Hill Country Baptist association spoke on how important Texans on Mission has been for Kerrville and the surrounding communities since the devastating floods of July 4, 2025.

Today I’m in West Texas teaching a fire and flood class at First Baptist Church. We had orientation, asset protection, food handling, shower and laundry, box ministry, fire and flood and temporary roof, assessor, chainsaw classes. We had a very good attendance and FBC West was a great host with lots of preparation weeks ahead of this day. Thank you FBC West and Pastor John Crowder!

On Saturday October 11 there was a Texans on Mission training in Georgetown at Crestview Baptist Church. Several specialities were taught, fire and flood which I had the opportunity to teach, box ministry, temporary roofing, feeding, rebuild, asset protection, and of course orientation. We volunteer not because we want to work but we want to show the love of Jesus. We want to spread the gospel and to give help, hope and healing to those who have been devastated. We go out and help in the disaster for free because Jesus paid for it all, oh yes, while we are here we just happen to have some cool tools to help fix your home!
The Marble Falls Texans on Mission teams are comprised with administrative, fire and flood, rebuild, chainsaw, feeding, shower & laundry, temporary roof and heavy equipment teams. We have volunteers all over the hill country and the state manning these teams. The Lord has been good to us to have such a diverse group.

On Tuesday morning your chainsaw team went out and helped do community service work in Granite Shoals. We just go out to show the love of Jesus.

On September 7, 2025 your Marble Falls Texans on Mission cooking team went to Gatesville to cook for the Tri-Rivers Area Baptist Association annual church appreciation banquet. The banquet was held at the Gatesville civic center. Our team had backup help from CTCDRT (Bell County) TXM cooking team. Our team consisted of: John Harris, Sam Crockett, Sam & Billye Rhudy, Bob & Catherine McClimans and Kathy Crowder was the blue cap. Thank you Jim and Monica McDougal blue caps for CTCDRT team for the help and extra equipment.

We were informed a little after lunch to bug out because of the Guadalupe river starting to rise and that a bad storm was coming. We quickly packed our tool trailer and headed back to Kerrville. We were working around the community of Hunt. This video was one of the water crossings we had to get over.

This is our lunchtime at our jobs. We usually ask the homeowner if they would like to come and have lunch with us.

When you deploy we are supported by a host of many people. We have the feeding team who makes our meals each day and the shower/laundry unit which takes our dirty clothes and washes them and even folds the clothes returning them in a bag along with a written Bible verse or some encouraging message.

While we were removing the sheet rock on one home, we were removing the door frames. Someone when this house was built wrote Bible verses on the header. What a surprise!

When we finish cleaning the home we always present a signed Bible with all of the team signing it. The people have told us when we present it that it was wonderful because they lost theirs in the flood. After we present the Bible we present a quilt from the Sew Faithful Quilting group from First Baptist Church of Boerne. These ladies make these quilts and when they are finished sewing them they pray over each one.
