Almost forgot to share this... For those learning to walk in Torah like I am, let’s not weigh ourselves down with traditions. Many are beautiful and meaningful, but if we lose sight of what truly matters during this Festival, we miss its purpose.

We are called to rejoice, and if you don’t have a nearby community, check local camping sites and state parks, call to see if any group is gathering to celebrate Sukkot, and join them. I hope communities of believers make you feel at home.

Sukkot offers followers of Yeshua a powerful way to reflect on God's plan of redemption. Just as Israel was delivered from Egypt, passed through the waters, lived in temporary dwellings, and journeyed toward the Promised Land, believers are delivered through the work of Yeshua, pass through the waters, learn dependence on God during their earthly pilgrimage, and await the coming Kingdom. The sukkah reminds us that this present life is temporary. Our hope is not in earthly security, but in the God who dwells with His people and leads them toward the inheritance He has promised.

Sukkot starts Saturday 26th at sunset until the following Saturday at sunset. Then the 8th day. First day and the 8th days are supposed to be treated as Shabbat days. Today start the weekly Shabbat at sunset, then the First day of Sukkot at sunset (Shabbat), Monday to Saturday (next Friday sunset is the regular Weekly Shabbat), then Saturday at Sunset, another Shabbat for the 8th day of Sukkot. We have 4 Shabbats in total. What a blessing.

Well, the first one of this series stirred up some spirits, and I love it. The Word of Yahweh is clear, He wants us to follow Him, with pure hearts, not hearts full of human traditions, either rabbinic or clerical oral traditions. That's why I'm sharing these with you. What did Yahweh said to Moses, recorded in Torah, to keep in Yom Kippur? Nothing... a day of reflection, not football.

This is the day we do not bring sacrifices; the High Priest is the one bringing the offerings, for himself, for his fellow priests, for his family and for the nation of Israel. And every time the priesthood performed an offering, they needed to clean themselves. But I can't explain everything here in a social media post. The only thing I can say is... Do this sound familiar? Of course, there are two events in our lives that reflects this, Yeshua offering during Passover (the work at the cross), and the one that's still to happen, His return as King, not as a suffering servant. Where the Teruah will sound, and we will all be gathered from all nations, to watch Him doing the all the sacrifices, demolishing kingdoms, establishing His dominion, and we are to do nothing. Just watch.

What is your duty as the receiver of atonement and redemption? You are to do nothing you normally do, that means, no TV, no self-entertainment, but reflection in what Yahweh has done for you. He was the one who orchestrated the new covenant for you. Read Jeremiah 31:31-33 and Ezekiel 36:24-27.

But here some ideas of what you can do during Yom Kippur:
1. Observe it in the 10th day of the 7th month (started on Sept. 12 - based in moon sighting), so the 21st at sunset to the 22nd at sunset.
2. It is a holy convocation (sacred gathering - celebrate with people).
3. "Afflict your souls" (this means humble yourself before Yahweh your Elohim), how do this look like, what is it the most you like to do in your leisure time? Deny yourself from that for a full day. Or do as rabbis suggest, fast, that will afflict you for sure. Or a full day without your phone or tablet, that for sure will afflict many of you.
4. It is a Shabbaton, a High Shabbat of rest, no work.

The purpose is the remembrance of the atonement and cleansing from sin before Yahweh that Yeshua accomplished for us in the tree (cross), so we do not forget His benefits. We do not deserve this, we were made righteous before Yahweh, because of what Yeshua did.

Shabbat Shalom🕊️

What a week it has been.

We remembered September 11. We honored those taken too soon. We gathered in Nashville with believers from across the nations. We sang. We prayed. We wept. We rejoiced.

And now, as the sun sets over the ancient city, Shabbat comes.

Not as an interruption. As an invitation.

Stop. Rest. Be still. Remember who holds it all.

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.”
— Psalm 4:8

Wherever you are in the world, may you feel the peace of Shabbat settle over you. May the weight of the week lift. May you rest in the knowledge that He is God and He is good.
