Until your old age, I am he, and until you have gray hair, I myself will hold you up. I myself made you, and I myself will lift you up. I myself will hold you up, and I will rescue you. - Isaiah 46:4 (Evangelical Heritage Version)

As I age, several changes happen in my life. My legs grow weak, and I can easily stumble and fall. My hair begins to thin, and it turns gray. But you, Lord, never change. You are always near me. Although I may still physically fall, you are always there to catch me when I fall spiritually. You rescue me from the devil, the world, and my own sinful self. Carry me in your loving arms until I reach my heavenly goal where I will never stumble again. I ask this for Jesus' sake. Amen.

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. - 2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV

Dear Lord, in the Old Testament, Moses covered his face with a veil because your glory was showing on his face. I am humbled that the reflection of your glory shines through me as you bring me closer to you. Continue to let my light shine so others will see it and glorify you. Amen.

"I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me, so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting men may know there is none besides me. I am the LORD, and there is no other." - Isaiah 45:5-6 NIV

Dear Triune God, I am embarrassed to acknowledge that I have placed other things ahead of you. Forgive me for the times I have made idols of things in my life. Strengthen my resolve to know only you and your Son Jesus as the source of my salvation. Make my every moment a time to confess you as Lord, the only God, my Redeemer. Amen.

We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we present everyone perfect in Christ. — Colossians 1:28

Heavenly Father, send your Spirit to mold me to be more Christlike. Instill in my heart a love for Jesus that overflows. Use me to share my love for you and help others know you better. Enable my teaching to bring others into a closer relationship with their Savior. Amen.

When danger strikes, most people instinctively move away from it. Fire, violence, accidents, and disasters trigger a natural desire to find protection and safety. Yet first responders do the opposite. Firefighters, police officers, and paramedics run toward the very scenes others are fleeing. They enter burning buildings, approach violent situations, and kneel beside the injured in chaotic moments. This response is unexpected because it goes against basic human instinct.

God calls us to be spiritual first responders when we see people in trouble because of sin. Instead of self-preservation and comfort, we choose service to them and to our Lord. Our motive is the grace of God and his desire for the salvation of all mankind.

Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will hold on to my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. - John 14:23 (Evangelical Heritage Version)

Dear Lord Jesus, your love for me goes beyond my comprehension. Even when my love for you fails, you come and dwell with me. When I struggle to listen to your Word and follow it, gently restore me. Save me from apathy. Together with the Father, come and dwell in my heart. Generate there a love for you that drives me to your Word. Help me reciprocate with love for you and for those around me. In your saving name, I pray. Amen.
