Event Devotional:

Today’s scripture is Proverbs 25:13
Like a snow-cooled drink at harvest time is a trustworthy messenger to the one who sends him; he refreshes the spirit of his master.

So what does this mean?

This scripture is comparing a snow cooled drink to a trustworthy messenger.

Think about a time when you have been outside working. There comes a moment when you NEED something to drink and you want it to be COLD!

What is that moment like the moment you take that first drink? It’s not just an ordinary sip. It is a drink, many times a gulp, that quenches the heat you are feeling. It brings relief. It is refreshing. It restores you to go back k out and keep working.

In this scripture a trustworthy messenger creates that type of relief, restoration, and refreshes the master.

We need to realize that we are messengers of our master Jesus Christ. When we model his message, share his message, testify to his message, this work is refreshing to him.

Matthew 9:37–38 (NIV) States:

37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.

So as we are refreshed today with fellowship and Snow-cones, let’s be a refresher for the Lord by sharing His message.
