the Landing™ is an all-new, 52 week program that helps middle-school and high-school students (ages 13-18) travel the path to freedom, healing, and wholeness. This dynamic resource mirrors the content presented in the adult Celebrate Recovery program. The Landing gives teenagers:
* Hope - for all the amazing things God has in store for them.
* Truths - that help them overcome life's challenges an
d develop wisdom by learning to lean on Jesus.
* Joy - as they embark on an exciting year-long journey of engaging videos, meaningful experiences, vibrant worship, and great conversation.
* Friendships with other teenagers
The Landing is designed to lead young people in making Jesus the foundation of their lives, avoiding or breaking cycles of dysfunction, and experiencing God’s incredible forgiveness and healing. Welcome to The Landing at Crossroads Grace Community Church. The Landing is built on the 8 Recovery Principles for happy living, which directly parallel the 12 Steps, and are directly from the actual words of Jesus Christ's most stirring sermon, The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-10). Our students are free to share their own hurts, hang-ups, and habits without fear through mutual trust, honesty, and respect. We meet each Monday night at Crossroads Grace Community Church at 7:00. Our leaders are trusted servants who share their love for God and others, with others. What we are:
◾A safe place to share
◾A refuge
◾A place of belonging
◾A place to care for others and be cared for
◾Where respect is given to each member
◾Where confidentiality is highly regarded
◾A place to learn
◾A place to demonstrate genuine love
◾A place to grow and become strong again
◾A place for progress
◾Where you can take off your mask and allow others to know who you are
◾A place for healthy challenges and healthy risks
◾A possible turning point in your life
What we are not:
◾A place for selfish control
◾Therapy
◾A place for secrets
◾A place to look for dating relationships
◾A place to rescue or be rescued by others
◾A place for perfection
◾A place to judge others
◾A quick fix
Small Group Guidelines
1. Keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and feelings. There will be no cross talk, please. Cross talk is when 2 individuals engage in a dialogue, excluding all others. Each person is free to express their feelings without interruption.
3. We are here to support one another. We will not attempt to "fix" another.
4. Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group.
5. Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered recovery group. Including graphic descriptions.
