3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— 4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.

Good evening. The first Sunday in September is a day to recognize the wife of your Preacher/Pastor.

In past years I haven't posted appreciation not because it isn't deserved but mainly because my husband helps to preach so I don't want it to sound like a hey honor me post.

Today I wanted to tackle it, for a couple of reasons. First many women have forgotten how important the role of a wife and women in general in the church are.

See society lead by that angel of light, Satan, has taught us God's system is oppressive and sexist. They won't present it in such blunt wording but that's what it boils down to.

So when women hear this and forsake their God given role they throw off the balance of their family and harm God's family, the church.

God set up these roles for a reason. Having a good pastors wife who recognizes her role an lives it, is an example we should follow and blessing we should be thankful for.

Second is we need to be teaching our younger generations why these different roles are important. Society has blurred the lines we need to make them clear again. When we know why we do, what we do, we will feel honored we are called to do so and find joy in doing it.

Lastly God did not make this role a thankless one. Working beside a leader or even behind the scenes if you will deserves just as much praise and encouragement. Leaders are better with help and support. They need good wives to do what they do more effectively and efficiently. So let's be sure to thank them for doing God's will and helping keep God's family grounded in His love.

28 “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’ 29 He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went.

Good evening. Today is Be late to something day. Now, I'm not encouraging tardiness and neither is this day. Instead this day wants us to slow down, and reevaluate which may make us late but also may put us on the path we need to be.

Sometimes like the first son in the parable, we are quick to say no . Whatever the "reason" might be when we stop and think and truly let the reality of it all hit us we realize we were wrong.

At this moment we should be like the son, regret our first action and though we will be late, we should go to right our wrong.

When we do, we will be forgiven and rewarded by God for our action.

So if you have ever felt like it's too late you, pause for a minute and recognize that you still have the power to make it right.

It's truly better to be late in serving the Lord , then to never serve him, and spend and eternity without Him.

Good evening. Today is National Leadership Day. Though our roles are different, we all have an equally important role to fill when serving God.

It is our duty to serve our Lord according to His will . We must be subject to His rules and faithfully follow God in our role.

We never know who is watching, our actions just might help lead someone to Christ.

Good evening. September is Self Improvement Month. As Christians, we should be striving every day to better ourselves for the Lord. We should maintain and grow our strengths while working on the areas in our lives that we struggle with.

We also need to remember that Baby steps in the right direction is progress. Keep on keeping on!

We will never be perfect on our own but if we follow Christ, He will make-up the difference and provide us with what we need to succeed.

So let's work to improve ourselves by following God's plan here. When we do we will see a brighter future here and in the here after.

Good evening. In 1752 the U.K. and the American colonies adjusted their calendars from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian Calendar. To do so days were skipped . So the calendar for that one year went from September 2nd , immediately followed by the 14th. .

Spiritually speaking, we need to make sure that Calendar days are used wisely. Though time may seem to go that fast ; Skipping days of service and or worship is dangerous for your soul.

So let's make sure we make the necessary calendar adjustments to serve the Lord daily .

James 5:8 NKJV You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

2 Peter 3:9 NKJV
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Good evening. Honestly waiting doesn't feel like winning . Especially when others seem to be "winning" not waiting.

But if we remain faithful, we will see that temporary wins aren't worth an eternal win.

So let's be patient with others and ourselves just as God is patient with us. It might take a little longer and be more work but it will be worth it.

Good evening. Today is Eat Outside Day. This cartoon The Big Picnic is a re-telling of Jesus feeding the five thousand.

Eating outside in a park, campsite , or even your backyard can be beneficial to you and others. The fresh air, less distractions and a getting to see God's beautiful world in its glory can bring us joy, and comfort.

When your in a public place, others can see you praying for your meal, and how respectful of the land and others around you are.

Whether or not you chose to eat outside, is it good to get out and experience God's beautiful creation first hand. While we are out there let's make sure our gospel lights are brightly shining so others can see God living in us and want that joy that loving God brings .

Good evening. Today is National Slinky Day . When I typed in slinky with scripture, I found two awesome bible object lessons using a slinky.

The first had to do with the scripture here. When the steps, blocks set up, are in order the slinky will have no problem going down. But if you miss a step or have the steps even slightly out of order it can cause the slinky to stop, stumble or fall.

So we need to make sure we are following in the Lord 's steps so we stay safely on track.

It also should be noted that, Slinky's take one step at a time. No short cuts. In doing so often gain momentum as the go. . When you are doing the right thing , the right way it will get completed on time.

Second lesson 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NKJV
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—

A Slinky is resilient. Whether hard pressed or stretched outthe slinky can still retain its integrity. We can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. So we should spring into action to do His good will.

It's funny how a word might save your life and I'm saying a lot right now ....

Good evening. Today is Speak kind words Saturday. Which we should absolutely do on a daily basis. But I want us to take it a step further from politeness.

Probably one of the most counterproductive things we do is keep is silence ourselves when a tough situation arises.

Now don't get me wrong, we should think about what and how we say things BUT when we don't speak when needed, it causes more harm.

I love this line from this song, because he may not know what to say but if he keeps talking from his heart he may just come across what's needed.

So many people just shut down. Trying hurts and you might not win but those awkward kind words you stumbled over are better said than not. You will not wonder if you could have because you did. Even if you can't help them right now it has an impact and may with time be realized that yes those words were exactly what they needed to hear though they weren't ready. You will also learn that it does mean something even if the one your trying to help doesn't see it, others do.

So let's speak kindness, and show we care even when it's awkward and messy because thoughtfulness without action definitely won't help anyone now or ever.

Good evening. Today is Forgive Your Foe day. It's important as Christians to show love and have grace, mercy and forgiveness towards all.

Forgiving our enemies isn't easy but it can benefit us greatly. It takes a load off our shoulders. Seriously carrying a grudge is heavy. It wears on you physically, mentally and spiritually. Also you never know being kind to them and showing them God's way just might touch their heart and or others that see your willingness to forgive.

I think it's also important to note, that often our biggest foe is ourselves. If we truly think about it the only true enemy that stands in the way of our salvation is ourself. No one but us can cause us to lose our salvation.

So we need to forgive ourselves when we get in our own way and look to God truth for the answers to be a better Christian.
