CONSTRUCTION BEGINS! Great news—our construction permit has officially been approved by Tarrant County! After months of planning, preparation, and behind-the-scenes work, we are ready to build!
WHAT DID PERMITTING REQUIRE? A lot! The permitting process was extensive, and our Building Team spent months preparing everything required for approval. This included replatting our properties, securing a new survey, finalizing site and grading plans, and receiving third-party engineering approval for our architectural, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical plans.
It may not have been the most visible part of the project, but it was essential—and now it’s behind us!
WHAT’S ALREADY BEEN DONE ON SITE? While working through the permitting process, we’ve also been preparing the property for construction. A new water tap has been completed, our electrical capacity has been increased, and the existing foundation has been prepared for expansion.
In other words, we’re ready to start going vertical!
WHAT’S NEXT? As soon as the weather cooperates, concrete will be poured for the foundation extension. After approximately a week of curing, construction of the metal building can begin.
The exciting part is that the metal building itself should go up in weeks, not months! Once the shell is complete, however, there will still be significant interior work, including framing, sheetrock, flooring, lighting, HVAC systems, restrooms, and more.
WHAT ARE WE BUILDING? The new building will give Ridge West much-needed space for ministry, relationships, and community. It will include:
* 5 classrooms
* Welcoming lobby
* Large, flexible indoor gathering space
* Men’s and women’s restrooms
The large gathering room will feature a raised lounge area that can also serve as a stage, along with two wide glass garage doors that open to a family-friendly outdoor area. Together, the indoor and outdoor spaces will provide a flexible setting for church events, fellowships, community gatherings, and more.
Updated renderings and graphics will be available by mid-October!
WHO HAS BEEN WORKING ON THE PLANS? Please take a moment to thank our Building Team: Jeff Lane, Jeremy Reece, and Coby Kleinjan. They have invested countless hours navigating details, discussing choices, and moving this project forward.
Many other volunteers have also pitched in along the way. We’re grateful for everyone who has helped make this possible!
HOW ARE WE PAYING FOR THIS? In 2025, we launched our “It’s Our Turn” Building Fund, and our church family responded with incredible generosity, giving $363,568!
With an expected construction cost of approximately $550,000, we will soon launch an updated campaign with a goal of raising the remaining $186,432.
Every gift moves us closer to completing this project and expanding what Ridge West can offer our church and community.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS? Because we believe Ridge West can become an even greater hub for our community—a place where people gather and build meaningful connections with God and with one another.
We envision the new indoor/outdoor gathering area as a place where all generations can come together for relationships, celebrations, ministry, and fellowship.
The five new classrooms will also give every age group more room for Bible studies, programs, small groups, and gatherings.
Ultimately, we’re not just building a building. We’re creating more room for people—more room to gather, more room to grow, and more room to reach our community.
