What’s the point of church?

Seriously.

Why get up on a Sunday morning?
Why get the kids ready?
Why drive somewhere?
Why sing songs with a bunch of people?
Why sit and listen to somebody preach?

I can worship Jesus at home.

I can pray at home.

I can read my Bible at home.

I can sit on my couch and listen to some of the best preachers in the world.

So…

Why church?

That’s where we’re starting this Sunday.

We’re going to actually wrestle with the question.

OPEN HEARTS CARRY PEOPLE.
Today, Mark 2 showed us four friends who refused to let a crowd, a blocked entrance, or even a roof keep their friend from Jesus.

Their faith wasn’t merely something they believed; it was something they carried.

Open hearts notice people.
Open hearts make room.
Open hearts carry burdens.
Open hearts refuse to give up.
Open hearts bring people to Jesus.

We don’t want to gather around Jesus while making it difficult for others to reach Him. We want to be the kind of church that will open the roof if we have to.

“And when Jesus saw their faith…” Mark 2:5
