We can sing loud on Sunday… but still miss the hurting person right in front of us Monday.

The book of Obadiah reminds us that pride keeps us distant, but Jesus always moves close to people in pain.

Being a neighbor isn’t just about proximity.
It’s about presence.
It’s about compassion.
It’s about being willing to step into someone’s mess instead of stepping over it.

Maybe the greatest ministry we can offer somebody this week is simply showing up.

If this message encouraged or challenged you, share it with someone today.

And if you’re looking for a church family where you can be seen, valued, and grow in your faith, join us Sunday at 10 AM at The Bridge Co.

What kind of neighbor are we when someone else is hurting?

In this message from the book of Obadiah, we’re reminded that pride can make us stand back when God is calling us to come close. Loving our neighbors isn’t always easy or convenient, but Jesus calls us into the messy, costly work of compassion, healing, and restoration.

When we planted this church, God gave us a clear vision and burden: no kid who desires to go to camp should ever miss out because of finances.

That has become part of the foundation of who we are as a church.

Camp is so much more than a few days away, swimming, zip lines, games, and fun. Camp is a place where kids encounter Jesus, build friendships, worship together, hear the Word of God, and begin building their foundation in Christ instead of the world. We believe this is kingdom impact. We believe this is investing in eternity. We believe this is building our next generation.

With the cost of everything continuing to rise, we know that for many families, camp can feel like one more financial burden. But we never want money to be the reason a child misses an opportunity to grow in their faith. That is why, as a church, we have made it our heart to send every kid who wants to go.

This year, we thought we had enough raised, but then we were surprised and honestly so encouraged by how many kids signed up and wanted to go to camp. What a beautiful problem to have. Now we want to make sure we meet that need.

Right now, we are about $2,500 short of being able to fully cover camp for every kid going this year.

This is where generosity makes a difference. It truly takes a community. Every gift matters, whether big or small, because together we can remove the financial burden from families and make a lasting kingdom impact in the lives of these kids.

And anything given above and beyond this year’s need will not go to waste. It will roll over into next year’s camp fund so that this becomes bigger than just one year. We want this to be something we continue building, year after year, so that every kid who desires to go to camp has no financial excuse not to go.

We are believing that God will provide through the generosity of His people. Thank you for helping us invest in the next generation, build foundations in Christ, and make a difference that will last far beyond one week of camp.
