Our speakers for the SBFC-SW this year will be teaching us of the rich history of the Reformed Baptist faith. Dr. Robert Oliver will show us the lives of long-ago saints who labored so faithfully to advance & preserve, without compromise, the tenets we have today. And Dr. James Renihan will teach of a major problem that affected the Philadelphia Baptist Association of Churches in the early 19th century in his lecture entitled "Trouble in the City of Brotherly Love". Pastor David Hendrickx is teaching of the historical origins of the SBC and Pastor Jason Montgomery will speak of the English Particular Baptists and the evangelical revival of the 18th century.

Following the last session on Thursday evening, there will be an ice cream social during which Dr. Renihan will present an update on the plan to form the first confessional Reformed Baptist seminary in Mansfield, TX in 2018. Come join us for sound teaching, appreciation of our heritage and wonderful fellowship!

A very important announcement about the Southern Baptist Founders Conference - Southwest, which we are hosting 9/22-23. The theme this year is "Baptist History" and our guest speaker is Dr. Robert Oliver of the U.K., one of the foremost Baptist historians of our day.

Due to a schedule change, Dr. James Renihan of the Institute of Reformed Baptist Studies will be speaking on Friday 9/23.

His topic: "Trouble in the City of Brotherly Love." It will describe a major problem that affected the Philadelphia Baptist Association of Churches, in the early 19th century.

The Reformed Baptist faith as we have it today came at a great price. In the early days of the faith, those who came before us often suffered under false accusations from their theological opponents and many times endured great persecution. A glimpse of the lives of these people along with historical events that have helped define our beliefs will be presented at the SBFC-SW this year. Our speakers will present a variety of topics that will illuminate our past, revealing paths that brought us to the present.

Come hear of our origins, of our foundations, of the ordinary and extraordinary men & women who held to their convictions and conscience in times of peace and tribulation. With this knowledge will come a deep appreciation for the Reformed faith that we hold dear today.
