Known as Freedom Day, Emancipation Day, or Jubilee Day, Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States.

It’s a commemoration of June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce the end of slavery—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth has been celebrated in African American communities since 1866.

We were reminded that we have full access to God—and we don’t have to come unsure or hesitant. We are called to approach Him with confidence!

Put confidence in God’s presence — He welcomes us

Align your prayers with His will — that’s where power is

Trust that He hears and responds — every time.

Remember we are not outsiders trying to get God’s attention—we are His children with direct access. That means no fear, no doubt, no backing down… just bold, confident faith!

🌟 Ignited Youth Department Recap 🌟

Today our youth learned what it means to be “our brother’s keeper.” Through Genesis 4:9 and Galatians 6:2, we discovered that God calls us to care for one another, encourage one another, and help carry each other’s burdens.

We discussed how being a good brother’s or sister’s keeper looks at home, school, and church by showing kindness, standing up for others, helping those in need, and treating people the way Jesus would.

❤️ Big Takeaway: Being a follower of Christ isn’t just about loving God—it’s also about loving and looking out for others.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2
