Today’s Devotional Call: No More Second Guessing
Today I want to talk about something that I struggle with on a daily basis. This is something that has been do***ng me for years and that I sometimes just can’t quite figure out what to do about it without falling back into my old ways. You see, I have a hard time NOT second guessing my decisions once they are made. I go to God in prayer asking for His direction, and then, in a perceived moment of clarity, I make my move forward, and then it hits. Fear of failure, doubting my resolve, or just lack of motivation threatens to derail me and set me back to a place that I don’t want to be. This is a place that I find myself in far too often. Do you ever get there?
I want to feel confident about these decisions and to walk in the will of God, so I pray for wisdom and for certainty, because the last thing that I want to do is make a wrong move. But then I begin to wonder; “Maybe this isn’t what I am supposed to be doing. Or maybe this isn’t in the plans God has for my life.” And then I slam on the brakes or even worse, I retreat back into the safety of not even moving.
Wrestling with this level of insecurity is no fun, but thankfully God’s word has the answer. When David struggled with his purpose, he went to the Lord and said this in Psalm 25:4-5 "Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you"
So today, if you are fighting the demon of insecurity and second guessing the decisions that you are making, go to God and seek the TRUTH that He has for you. Our determination may waver, but God’s never will. Place your hope in the one who created the right path for you. I said a prayer for you, please say a prayer for me and my family and Fight On !!!
