Ash Wednesday 2025!πβοΈ
The early Christians observed with great devotion the days of our Lordβs passion and resurrection.
And they believed in repentance, self denial and renewal during that time.
It became the custom of the church that before the Easter Celebration,
there should be a forty days season of Spiritual preparation with prayer, fasting, reading the word and serving.
Time of penitence, forgiveness, reconciliation and restoration!
We are reminded of God's grace, mercy and forgiveness that are proclaimed in The Gospel of Jesus Christ and the need we all have to renew our faith.
So today, I invite you, therefore, to observe a holy lent:
by self-examination and repentance;
by prayer, fasting and self denial;
by forgiving, loving and caring for one another;
and by reading and meditating on Godβs Holy Word (personal and family devotion);
Join Bible study or Sunday school; renew your Church attendance and prayer meeting; share your faith; and faithfully do the works of grace, faith and pietyβ¦)
Let us pray:
Our Heavenly Father! Creator of the Heavens and the Earth! Judge of the Universe!
You are God and there is no one else like you! You are full of Majesty and Power; we give you praise, glory and Honor.
From the dust of the earth you formed us and From The dust of the grave you will raise us up to eternal life;
And this because of the redemptive power of the cross and the precious blood of your Son, Our Lord, Savior and king, Jesus Christ who lives forever.
And now Father, listen to our Cry, have mercy on us and be gracious to us; listen to our repented soul and answer us from heaven:
Forgive all our sins; Restore the joy of our salvation; Fill us with your Holy Spirit;
Revive our churches; Bless our country, our families and the works of our hands, and most of all Save our world;
Give us the boldness and the power to proclaim the Gospel without fear and shame!
By your power heal us of all sickness, lead us not unto temptation but deliver us from all evil;
We ask all these in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen!
