Today’s Lesson: “DON’T JUST SAY IT—SHOW IT!” 🙌🏽❤️

📖 James 2:14–17 (KJV)

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” — James 2:17

Today, our children and youth continued our October series, “FAITH IN ACTION: Don’t Just Know It—LIVE IT!”

We learned that faith is more than what we say—it’s demonstrated by what we DO! ❤️

It’s easy to say we love God, love others, and believe in doing what’s right. But the real question is: Do our actions match our words?

Through interactive discussions and real-life situations, we challenged our youth to think about how they can demonstrate their faith every day.

🔥 WHAT OUR YOUTH LEARNED:

❤️ Faith is more than words! Our actions should reflect what we believe.

💛 Love requires action! Kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and helping others are ways we demonstrate God’s love.

💚 Small actions make a BIG difference! You don’t have to be grown to make an impact.

💙 Our faith should show up everywhere! At home, at school, at church, with friends, and even when nobody is watching.

We reminded our youth that God doesn’t need them to wait until they’re adults to make a difference. He can use them RIGHT NOW! 🙌🏽

🎯 THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE: THE SECRET KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

Do one act of kindness without being asked, without posting about it, and without expecting anything in return!

We’re not just teaching our youth Bible stories. We’re helping them develop character, compassion, responsibility, and a faith they can carry into everyday life!

🔥 IGNITED FLAMES YOUTH CHURCH RECAP 🔥

“WATCH YOUR WORDS!” 🗣️❤️

Today our youth learned a powerful lesson from Proverbs 18:21 (KJV): “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”

We talked about how our words have power! What we say can build someone up or tear someone down, encourage or discourage, heal or hurt. And once words are spoken, we can apologize, but we can’t always take away their impact.

Our youth learned to stop and THINK before they speak, text, post, or comment:

❤️ Is it true?
💛 Is it kind?
💚 Is it necessary?
🔥 Does it represent God?

We also learned that speaking life doesn’t mean we can’t express when we’re hurt, angry, or disappointed. We can be honest about our feelings without using our words to hurt someone else.

Our challenge this week is simple: Speak LIFE to at least one person every day! Encourage somebody, give a compliment, say thank you, include someone who feels left out, or remind someone that they matter.

MY WORDS HAVE POWER!
I WILL THINK BEFORE I SPEAK!
I WILL BUILD PEOPLE UP, NOT TEAR THEM DOWN!
MY WORDS WILL REPRESENT JESUS!

The Flaming Fire Youth Department is excited to introduce the IGNITED FLAMES PRAISE DANCE MINISTRY! 🙌🏾💃🏾

This is more than dance—it’s WORSHIP! We want to give our young people an opportunity to develop their gifts, build confidence, grow in ministry, and use their talents to glorify God.

🔥 IGNITED FLAMES YOUTH CHURCH RECAP — 9/27 🔥

Sunday we wrapped up our September series, “BUILT FOR THIS: Faith That Works in Real Life,” with the lesson “Built for This! — Young, Saved & Unashamed” from 1 Timothy 4:12.

Our children and youth learned one important truth: They do not have to wait until they are adults for God to use them! Paul encouraged young Timothy not to allow anyone to look down on him because of his youth, but instead to let his LIFE be the example.

🔥 We learned that we can be examples in:

🗣️ WORD — I will honor God with what I say.
🙌🏽 CONDUCT — I will honor God by how I behave.
❤️ LOVE — I will show God’s love even when others don’t.
🙏🏽 FAITH — I will trust God even when life gets difficult.
✨ PURITY — I will make choices that honor God even when nobody is watching.

And today brought our entire month together:

❤️ I Know Who I Belong To — My Identity
🌱 Choices Have Consequences — My Decisions
🧍🏽 Pressure Won’t Push Me — My Courage
🔥 Built for This — My Example

Our youth left with this powerful reminder:

Because I know WHO I belong to, I can make WISE choices, STAND when pressure comes, and be an EXAMPLE for Christ!

We ended declaring:

“WE BELONG TO GOD!”
“WE WILL CHOOSE WISELY!”
“WE WILL STAND!”
“GOD CAN USE US RIGHT NOW!”

🔥 “WE WERE BUILT FOR THIS!”

We’re not just teaching lessons—we’re helping our children and youth build a faith they can carry into school, friendships, home, social media, and everyday life.

🔥 IGNITED FLAMES YOUTH CHURCH RECAP! 🔥

Today’s lesson was “Pressure Won’t Push Me!” from Daniel 3:16–18. Our children and youth learned from Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that just because everybody else is doing something doesn’t make it right!

We talked about real-life peer pressure and how it can show up at school, with friends, online, and even when nobody else is watching. Our youth learned that sometimes standing for God means being willing to stand when everybody else chooses to bow.

One of our biggest lessons today was: Don’t wait until the pressure comes to decide who you are! Know who you belong to and what you stand for beforehand.

We also practiced our decision-making tool:

🛑 STOP — Don’t react too quickly.
🤔 THINK — What could happen because of this choice?
🙏🏽 PRAY — Does this honor God?
✅ CHOOSE — Make the wise choice!

And our youth had fun with “Bow or Stand?”, working through real situations involving cheating, bullying, gossip, friendships, and standing up for their faith.

🔥 BIG TAKEAWAY:
“Because I know WHO I belong to, I can make WISE choices even when I feel PRESSURE from other people!”

We ended declaring together:

“I BELONG TO GOD!”
“WHEN EVERYBODY ELSE BOWS, I STAND!”

🔥 IGNITED FLAMES YOUTH CHURCH RECAP 🔥

Today’s lesson was “Choices Have Consequences” from Galatians 6:7–9. 🌱

Our children and youth learned that the choices we make today can affect our tomorrow. Just like a seed produces what is planted, our words, actions, attitudes, friendships, and decisions can produce either good or difficult consequences.

We taught them a simple way to slow down before making a decision:

🛑 STOP — Don’t react too quickly.
🤔 THINK — What could happen because of this choice?
🙏🏽 PRAY — Does this please God?
✅ CHOOSE — Make the wise choice!

Most importantly, we reminded our youth that small choices become habits, and habits help shape our character. Whether they’re at school, home, church, with friends, or when nobody is watching—their choices matter!

🌱 BIG TAKEAWAY:
“The choices I plant today become the life I harvest tomorrow!”

We’re not just preparing our youth for Sunday—we’re helping prepare them for life! ❤️🔥
