FINISHING THE TASK — Part 2

Tomorrow at Manor Methodist, we’ll continue our two-part series on “Finishing the Task.”

Last week, we looked at the mission Jesus has given His Church. Tomorrow, we’ll focus on what it means to finish well—to remain faithful to the assignment God has given each of us.

Paul said, “I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7

The task is not finished. But the finish line is getting closer. What if we went all in?

A Personal Invitation from Pastor Lynn

This Sunday at Manor Methodist, we’re beginning a two-week message series called “Finishing the Task.”

The South Georgia Conference is challenging our churches to take seriously the mission Jesus gave His Church—to make disciples, share the gospel, care for people in need, pray for those who don’t yet know Christ, and help establish new churches.

As I’ve thought about this, I’ve been reminded that Manor Methodist is already part of this mission. We support John Rentz and his work with Wycliffe, missionaries serving in South Africa and Colombia, Mountain2Sea Ministries, needs in our own community, and church-planting efforts through our conference.

This isn't about starting something completely new. It's about asking what God might do if we went all in.

Over the next two Sundays, we'll look at what Jesus has called us to do and what it means for each of us to faithfully play our part.

Paul said, “If only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus.” — Acts 20:24

I hope you'll join us Sunday. Let's be a church that's all in for the mission of Jesus!

Sometimes the weather has other plans! Because of the high likelihood of rain this Sunday, we are canceling our Back to School Splash. We know many were looking forward to it, but we'll be planning another opportunity to gather, have fun, and celebrate our students in the near future. Stay tuned for details, and thank you for your understanding. We pray God's blessings on all of our students, teachers, and school staff as a new school year begins! 📚🙏

This Sunday, we continue our summer sermon series, "All the Things: Everyday Ministry in the Power of the Spirit."

Pastor Lynn's message from Acts 3:1–10 is titled, "What You Have, Freely Give."

Each of us has been blessed because someone invested in us, encouraged us, prayed for us, and shared the love of Christ. Now God calls us to do the same—to sow generously into the lives of others through simple, everyday acts of kindness, encouragement, and prayer.

How might God use you as His ambassador this week?
