Our children wrapped up their study of Toy Story: You’ve Got a Friend in Jesus, and the whole congregation joined in by dressing in their favorite western attire! They have learned that they always have a friend in Jesus, and we hope they continue sharing this message with everyone they meet.

The congregation also recognized Bro. Lynn and Lori with gifts today for Pastor Appreciation.

What a wonderful day of faith, fellowship, and gratitude at Manor Methodist Church!

What if we were never meant to spend our lives stuck in the swamp of sin, guilt, and repeated failures?

This Sunday at Manor Methodist Church, we're moving into Romans 8:1–17—one of Brother Lynn’s favorite passages of Scripture! Paul reminds us that, through Jesus Christ, we are no longer condemned or enslaved to sin. We have been set free to walk in newness of life through the power of the Holy Spirit!

As Brother Lynn shares:

“The Christian life is about more than trying harder and hoping we do better. It's about the transforming work of God's grace in us. Through the Holy Spirit, we can know that we belong to God—we are not slaves living in fear, but children of God and heirs with Christ!”

What is playing in the background of your life?

This Sunday, we’ll continue our journey through Romans with Romans 5:18–21 and a message titled “The Soundtrack of the Gospel.”

The gospel tells a story that changes everything: sin entered through one man, but through Jesus Christ came grace, justification, and life. And because of Christ, the soundtrack of our lives can be different—not because we will never face suffering or difficulty, but because we can have peace with God and hope in the midst of it.

Romans reminds us that where sin increased, grace increased all the more. That is good news for every one of us.

We’ll also think about some of the hymns that have given voice to this gospel—songs of grace, peace, assurance, and hope.

BACK TO THE SECOND BEGINNING

What happens when God begins again?

In Romans 4, Paul points us back to Abraham—a man who was far from perfect, yet was chosen by God to become the beginning of a people through whom God would bless the nations.

Paul describes our God as “the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that are not.”

That is still who God is.

He gives new life. He makes new beginnings. And through Jesus, He invites us not simply to prepare for life after death, but to begin living the life of His kingdom right now.
