As we enter into camp season in the COGOP, it is our goal to send as many kids as we can to Camp Echeconnee for our district. This fundraiser is to benefit all of district 2, not just Mt. Green. Beyond Mt. Green, this district includes: Word of Life Worship (Blackshear), Victory Chapel (Homerville), Wahoma, Camp Branch, Homeland, CrossView, Gilchrist Park, and Suwannee Chapel. We humbly ask that you help our district send as many kids to camp as we can this year, we do not tell any kids they can’t go, whether they attend one of our churches or not. This evening we want to take a moment to show our precious Sister Shirley how much we appreciate her for 40 years of dedication to the Ware County School’s Transportation Department. From her early days of driving a bus to her latest job description of being superwoman while answering phones and communicating with drivers all at the same time, Sister Shirley has definitely made her mark on the transportation department. Just as Sister Shirley is faithful to her church, she is also faithful to her job and there’s no doubt she loves it and her coworkers. I do not know how many more years Sister Shirley intends to wake up on those very early mornings and stay late into the afternoon before she retires, but I do know she will continue to impact lives as she has always done.

On this resurrection Sunday, we are reminded that the stone wasn’t moved so that Jesus could escape the tomb. That would indicate that Jesus was confined to His surroundings. We find in John’s account of the resurrection that Jesus came to the disciples in a locked room, this shows us that His surroundings do not put limits on Him. The stone was rolled away so that we could look in and see what was once dead, what had no life, was now fully resurrected with life once again. He still does the same in our lives today. What is dead, no hope situations, He raises them back up and gives us a hope (assurance) that the finished work of the cross gives us victory.
