On this resurrection Sunday, we are reminded that the stone wasn’t moved so that Jesus could escape the tomb. That would indicate that Jesus was confined to His surroundings. We find in John’s account of the resurrection that Jesus came to the disciples in a locked room, this shows us that His surroundings do not put limits on Him. The stone was rolled away so that we could look in and see what was once dead, what had no life, was now fully resurrected with life once again. He still does the same in our lives today. What is dead, no hope situations, He raises them back up and gives us a hope (assurance) that the finished work of the cross gives us victory.

We have all seen the weather forecast prediction for tomorrow, we also know that there are so many contradictory forecasts going around as well. After considering all of the predictions and forecasts available at this time, I believe that it is safe, as of now, to continue with our Sunday morning services as scheduled (Sunday school at 10 a.m. and morning worship at 11 a.m.).

However, due to the anticipated rapid decrease in temperatures throughout the evening we have decided to cancel our evening worship service due to the possibility of black ice forming on the roads.

*Please be advised that if there are any changes such as sleet, snow, or ice in the morning we will make changes to our morning service as well. We will update any changes through our page as well as our call multiplier system.*

Merry Christmas from Pastor Hunter and Maelyn! Today as we spend time with our family and friends, we reflect on the main reason for today, the Savior was born. John 1:14 tells us that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. God became flesh and took on the form of a servant (Philippians 2:7), as Jesus, our Savior. Today, and always, we are reminded that God knows exactly what we go through in this world because He also faced these same things when He became flesh. There is nothing that we’ll ever go through that our God doesn’t already have the answer to. Be encouraged today that Jesus is on your side and He has you in the palm of His hand.

We have nothing to be afraid of when we have Jesus on our side!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Mt. Green friends and family! This Thanksgiving let’s focus on 1 Thessalonians 5:18: “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” This verse doesn’t say to give thanks for all things, it says to give thanks in all things. In this life we all face hardships and sometimes we look at this verse and wonder how is it possible to give thanks in the middle of going through a family members death, a divorce, financial struggles, depression, lost relationships. The answer to your struggle is a simple one. Worship. Your worship can do what your worry never will. Paul and Silas didn’t worry when they were thrown in prison, they sang praises and worshipped. And God met them right there where they were at. Don’t give up in the middle of your struggle, worship your way out.
