"I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I was saved from my enemies." Psalm 18:3
Who else is worthy of our praise but God? Who deserves it more than Him? Who deserves our worship and our devotion but the One who died to save us from all the sin that we are guilty for? Who else should we give all of our heart to but Jesus?
I have never seen such a divide in our country or in our world than I do right now. Even the music industry is in a battle. Good verses really, really evil. So many in the secular industry are not only sinning about sin, but are dedicating entire songs to the source behind the sin, and their dedication to him. No longer hidden, or only sung by musicians that we would all expect to dabble in evil, now we are seeing it come from those who once were considered safe, or not ones to worry about.
We are seeing athletes who are believers, willing to be constantly ridiculed and tormented and slandered by most all other teammates and the media, in order to take a stand for what is right. We are watching political leaders, who know about and see the corruption and they are calling it out from the top of their lungs and doing all that they have the power to do, be absolutely slammed and demonized for speaking truth.
When has the battle ever been so vivid? When have we ever seen it play out as if we were watching revelation unfolding. The battle is real! We can see it, but are we ready?
"The ropes of death were wrapped around me; the torrents of destruction terrified me. The ropes of Sheol entangled me; the snares of death confronted me." Psalm 18:4-5
David watched real battles play out in his life. He had people literally want to see him die because God had anointed him for His divine purpose. The enemy wanted to silence him, to see him snuffed out before his place in history was secured, but God was in control of it then, just like He is now. David knew his God, and even though fear crept up from time to time, he knew what to do.
"I called to the Lord in my distress, and I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry reached His ears."
Psalm 18:6
No matter what is raging around you. No matter what you are seeing play out before your eyes, the lesson we all need to remember is that we can always cry out to God and He will hear us, and when it is time for Him to act, He will act and the world will tremble in fear, because vengeance belongs to God and He will come to our defense.
"Then the earth shook and quaked; the foundations of the mountains trembled; they shook because He burned with anger." Psalm 18:7
Read the rest of Psalm 18 today. Read all about what God does in defense of the ones He loves. You have nothing to fear in this war that is raging if God is on your side, and you are on His. Cry out to Jesus, and ....Watch What God Does!
God Bless!
