Imagine what the church would be like if every believer of Jesus Christ simply stepped out in the areas in which they are naturally gifted and used those gifts for the glory of God!
So many people simply occupy seats and enjoy the words spoken and the songs sung without ever realizing all that God could do through simple obedience.
He crafted you intricately in your mothers womb for His divine purpose. He equipped you with natural talents and placed you where you are right now.
Philippians 4:13 states that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." If He your strength then what is stopping you from serving Him with your gifts and abilities.
Not everyone is called to teach, or preach, or stand on a stage and sing. Some of us are called to encourage, or talk to people as God prompts us to reach out to them and be a friend. Some of us are called to give time to help with an outreach, or give money or supplies. Some are called to work with children or to help fix things that break. And some are simply called to pray for others.
Whatever gifts God has given you, use them wholeheartedly for Him!
God Bless!

"Godliness with contentment is great gain." 1st Timothy 6:6

Are you content with what God has given you? I used to think that if I only had a little bit more that I would be content. I was happy with what I had but always dreamed of the thing that would be better than that. It isn't wrong to dream of better, but are our dreams misdirected? Are our dreams not focused on what they should be?

I remember the day that my grandpa died. My parents spent several days preparing for what to do with his belongings. Some were sold, some were given away, and the rest was packed into a moving van and transported from Las Vegas back to Oklahoma. We who gained his belongings are still storing them, most of which go unused and untouched, with just a few precious items that contain memories that we hold very dear.

You see, nothing that we hold on to so closely goes with us when we leave this world. All of the little odds and ends that we collect will remain behind for the ones we love to either keep of discard. So why do we gather so much when we can take nothing with us when we go?

"For we brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing out." 1st Timothy 6:7

Why don't we spend our time making memories instead of focusing on making money? Why don't we spend our time gathering our friends and family together and talking about the Lord, instead of gathering things? When people leave this world, not even their body goes with them. So why not clean up our clutter now and simplify what we have in order for our loved ones not to be burdened with our remnants that hold no value to them?

If you have a warm bed to sleep in and clothes on your back and food on your table, that should be all you need to be content. If Jesus lives in your heart and your life is filled with His presence then you have a full life and that is truly what matters.

This coming election, the state of our world, they are both on shaky ground. Our lives are to be build on the rock that is Jesus and nothing that we can ever build will be more sure and steady than He is. Instead of wondering if your money is secure, make sure that your loved ones are secure in Christ. Instead of making sure you have enough food stored for whatever may come, not that it is bad to be prepared, but rather make certain that you have the word of God stored up in your spirit. Instead of spending your time talking about what may come in November, spend time taking about the One who could return for us at any time.

Watch what God is doing, not what man is doing. Prepare for the return of Jesus, and worry less about this next election. Do your part and vote, but don't let it consume your thoughts. Remember the day God chooses to take you home most of this won't matter. What will people truly miss in your absence? Will they miss the way you talked about Jesus? Will they miss the way you loved them and listened to them and prayed with them when they needed to see Jesus in you? Or will it all be about the "stuff" that has no eternal value?

You still have time to change the outcome. Today is a good time to start to refocus your dreams and simplify your clutter. Today is the best day to focus your eyes on Jesus and let the worries of this world fade into the background. Eternity is what matters. Stay heavenly focused, and everything else will fall into it's rightful place.

God Bless!

It feels like only a few moments have passed, but somehow it has been a whole year. To God maybe it has only been a few minutes. But to my dad, it has been his first year in eternity. I have missed him every second of every minute, of every hour of every day. A good father cannot be replaced, but the Heavenly Father can see you through all the pain and grief.

Today I am having a kidney stone removed that has been causing me pain for nearly three months. I have battled six kidney infections while I have waited and the day is finally here. You see the pains in life last for a moment, but joy comes with the morning. I am thanking God for this loving reminder that the pain in my heart is also temporary. One day soon the meaning of the truest and purest joy will be revealed and Jesus will take us home.

I feel like this small but mighty rock living in my kidney has been crying out to be free of me as much as I am crying out to be free of the pain that this life brings. So today I am trading my sorrows for the joy of the Lord, because it truly is my strength. I am going to praise Him in that hospital bed and praise Him on my way home for freedom from pain, knowing that some day I will truly be free of the heartbreak and tears.

Today I am really, really missing my dad and I wish that I could give him a big hug and talk to Him. But I am also praising God for the fact that he is standing in the presence of the Almighty and his pain from the cancer is not even a memory for him anymore. Who the Son sets free is free indeed!

I am asking for your prayers today, not just for me having this necessary procedure, but also for my mom, and brother and the rest of the family as the memories of the loss of such a huge part of our life is remembered with such gratitude. But I am also asking for you to be in agreement with us in saying "Come Jesus Come!"

"Count the years as months, count the months as weeks, count the weeks as days, any day now, we'll be going home......It won't be long....we'll be going home!" - Andre Crouch

I can't wait!!!

"Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?" Romans 8:35

Uncertainty seems to be swirling in the air around us. Everyone is talking about it. Every person I follow on every news media outlet says to prepare for the worst, but to hope for the best. Now we know as believers we are not supposed to have fear, but when the stability of everything is in question, our faith in God is being tested like never before.

If you have been through the fire with God before and you have seen Him work all things for the good and for His glory, then it may not shake you like others are being shaken right now. So I want to ask something of each of you today... If God has walked through the fire with you, then share it! I am asking you to comment on this post and fill it up with what God has done in your life. Let us all help one another to "fear not" because of God and His faithfulness!

The doctors told me that my husband was going to die, and he did, but God was not done with our story and He brought Kirk back to life and did the miraculous! I watched God do miracle after miracle and my husband is still with me today. Every vital organ in his body had shut down and God brought them all back to life and gave us a powerful testimony. What has God done for you? Tell me about it! Boldly proclaim what God has done in your life!

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:37-39

You might have the very testimony that somebody needs to hear today. Share it with as many people as you can. It is time to come together as a body of believers and tell people that the God you serve is willing and able to see us through whatever comes next.

God Bless!

"The good news of the Kingdom has been proclaimed, and everyone is urgently invited to enter it." Luke 16:16b

There are three different groups of people living in this country right now. The first group are believers saying "look at what is happening! Time is short! Now is the time to turn your hearts to Jesus!" The second group are the unbelievers. They like to tell everyone..."Do whatever you want to do!" "Choose your own truth!" The third group seem to be numb to both groups. They just stay busy and so immersed with life and business, that they don't even slow down long enough to consider what the truth is let alone take a breath. They put off making a decision about truth for another day.

Let me ask you this though, if you were living in another country, say like Israel who are at war, or India where people are struggling just to put enough food on the table, wouldn't you take time to consider what the truth really is? If your very life is at risk, you are going to wonder what is next and what happens once this life ends.

Why do you think that Jesus said that "everyone is urgently invited to enter in"? It is because at any moment of any day, your life could be suddenly altered and your existence can be threatened. Do you think people expected that hurricane to come so far inland and into the mountains and sweep everything they have including their families and friends away? Do you think that people who were living peacefully one day expected the largest ballistic missile attack in history to suddenly appear in the skies over their homes? Do you think that a person going to the doctor for a routine checkup expects to be sent for tests that result in cancer and months left to live? None of us expect those kind of storms to come, but they come!

"If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.......But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15

Tomorrow is not promised for any of us. The time for decision making is now! God loves you, Jesus died for you, and eternity in heaven is waiting for you if you only choose to believe!

God Bless!

I heard a story a while back, maybe you have heard it too, about how sheep are not taken down by a snake bite because something in their blood neutralizes the venom. Anti-venom can be made from the blood of the lamb, and if a person is bitten by a rattlesnake, in just two days, the venom is destroyed once treated. Do you think that it is a coincidence that the blood of the lamb can destroy the venom of the snake in less that three days?

I heard preacher a few days ago, once again speaking of sheep. He was asking his congregation "What can a sheep do to defend itself?" "How does a sheep fight back against the enemy?" Of course some would answer that they have a shepherd, but that is not the answer that he was looking for.

I was at my daughters house a few days ago and she has four sheep. We were all sitting in her dining room visiting and suddenly we heard the loud bleating of one of the sheep. She instantly jumped up and went to see what the problem was. You see that is the answer.... a sheep cries out for help when faced with an enemy attack. A sheep will cry out for help when they are in distress, or when they are in pain. They can do nothing on their own, but they have a voice and they cry for help.

Do you think that Jesus was wrong when He compared us to sheep? I think there is no better example that He could have given. When His blood flows through our veins, the enemy can strike and we will not die, His blood will neutralize the venom every time. And when we are in distress, when we are in pain, when we have nobody around who understands, we simply need to cry out to Jesus and He will come at the sound of that cry.

Sometimes He will come to us through His word, sometimes He will send help through a person, sometimes His presence is so tangible that the very air around you feels different.

Language fascinates me and the very word bleat, when used as a verb, a word of action means both to weep and to roar or bellow. So whether you are crying softly in a closet or you are roaring out for help in the midst of a terrifying situation, that sound carries to the ears and eyes of the Great Shepherd, and He will come to you and find you wherever you are and lift you up into His arms.

"There is life in the path of righteousness, and in its path there is no death." Proverbs 12:28

Only the Lord can be trusted with the salvation of His people!

Read that and let the words sink into your spirit. People may try to convince you otherwise. We may feel pulled in every other direction trying to say that we have no hope, no help, other than ourselves, but God can be trusted. Maybe it's time to learn to trust Him more!

"Many say about me, "There is no help for him in God." But You, Lord, are a shield around me, my Glory, and the One who lifts up my head." Psalm 3:2-3

We cannot save ourselves from anything. Only God can be trusted to do that. So learn to trust Him, and if you already do trust Him, then learn to trust Him more!

God Bless!

"I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world." John 16:33

Over the past 8 weeks, Kirk had surgery, I had to go the the ER with horrendous pain, followed by a kidney stone procedure and left with a kidney infection that took over a week to conquer. Our dog had to have emergency surgery to save her life, only to be be rushed back to the vet a few days after she came home. We have had damage from a storm that suddenly came through on the forth of July. We have had two flat tires on different days. Thing after things has constantly bombarded us. The moment we think there is going to be a little peace ....WHAM!.....something else hits. The hits keep coming and coming.

Now I am not trying to make you feel bad for us! Not at all. This is a craze time we are living in. Just turn on the TV or look at any social media platform and you can quickly confirm that it is happening everywhere ... the craziness. Do you know who is not surprised by all that is going on? Jesus! He told us that in Him we would find peace.

You see had I not watched God do what only He can do five years ago, I don't know if I would know this peace that I do, like I do. I know I have said it a thousand times on this page, but seriously "Watch what God does!" Five words that were spoken to me five years ago have changed my life. I don't need to look around at the craziness. I don't need to get worked up over bills, or unexpected expenses. I don't need to let myself get caught up talking about things that I cannot change or worrying about it all. I just need to turn my eyes upon Jesus! He is my peace!

If God raised Kirk back to life, and protected his brain from certain damage, If God provided us in ways that are superabundantly more than I can ask or dream, if God walked through each and every moment of this life with me, proving Himself strong in my life, then why would I need anything else but Him to find peace?

I can be courageous, because My God has conquered the world!

It has been five years since we boarded the airplane that would bring us home. We expected a short visit, God gave us something very different. Our dreams were just that...our dreams. But God wanted to give us more than our greatest dreams.

"Now to Him who is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams, according to His power that is at work in us." Ephesians 3:20 Amplified version

We wanted a Cafe' and God gave us a testimony and a purpose. We wanted to live on the beach and soak up the sun. God gave us a vision of eternity and took away the fear that trapped us. We dreamed of a relaxing life where life was simple, but God gave us complications and challenges to show us how He can simply take care of them all one by one.

On top of all of that, He has literally showered us with His grace and mercy and poured out His blessings on us. These past five years have been overflowing with the love and grace of God and we never would have experienced any of it, had we stayed where we were, holding on to our own hopes and dreams.

I thank God for these past five years! As difficult as they have been, I wouldn't trade them for all the riches that the world has to offer. The richness that is found in Him is beyond measure and nothing compares to all that He has done. Thank You Jesus!

God Bless!

I wonder what a gathering of the early church was like in those first few months after Jesus ascended to heaven? You know, those first times when the outpouring of God's Holy Spirit was fresh and the people knew Jesus in a personal way. Maybe they had heard Jesus speak a time or two, or had witnessed one of His miracles, but then later chose to follow Him because of what He had just done for them and the fact that Rome wanted to silence it all.

Those gatherings would have been passionate and powerful and full of the words that Jesus spoke. They would have had tears and joy and pain and relief that the Savior of the world had been with them and had come to them to save them from their sins and make a way to eternity with Him.

"Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Doesn't it seem to you like nothing by comparison? Haggai 2:3

How does a church gathering now compare to one back then? Do we even come close to what it is meant to be anymore? My favorite times with the Lord in a church gathering are the ones when all the pretense is gone, when we sat around in a circle sharing stories of what God had done in our lives and sang the songs as they came to us with just a simple guitar and voices full of praise and gratitude. The one's when people share scripture that God had laid on their hearts. It was as if God Himself were orchestrating it all. guess what? He was!!!

God doesn't need all of our man made additions to a service in order to worship Him. He doesn't desire all of the fanfare to bring in people wanting to socialize with one another, giving little thought to Him. He wants us to humbly come to Him, willing to serve, willing to listen, and willing to lay down what burdens us so that we can walk closer to Him. He desires all of our praise, not just a little piece of it.

We have work to do to break free from the mold that man has made it. Work for the Lord is pure and honest. He doesn't need a full band or a fancy dressed preacher to draw people to Him. He only needs people willing to lay aside their pride and tell the world what He has done for them and to point them in His direction.

"Even so, be strong Zerubbabel - this is the Lord's declaration. Be strong, Joshua son of Jehozadak, high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land - this is the Lord's declaration. Work! For I am with you - the declaration of the Lord of Armies." Haggai 2:4

When the Lord tells us to work, He means to lift Him higher, and then He will draw all men unto Him. Tell someone what the Lord has done in your life. He gave you a testimony for a purpose. It is to be shared with others, lifting His name higher and higher and it will draw people to Jesus!

God Bless!

"I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I was saved from my enemies." Psalm 18:3

Who else is worthy of our praise but God? Who deserves it more than Him? Who deserves our worship and our devotion but the One who died to save us from all the sin that we are guilty for? Who else should we give all of our heart to but Jesus?

I have never seen such a divide in our country or in our world than I do right now. Even the music industry is in a battle. Good verses really, really evil. So many in the secular industry are not only sinning about sin, but are dedicating entire songs to the source behind the sin, and their dedication to him. No longer hidden, or only sung by musicians that we would all expect to dabble in evil, now we are seeing it come from those who once were considered safe, or not ones to worry about.

We are seeing athletes who are believers, willing to be constantly ridiculed and tormented and slandered by most all other teammates and the media, in order to take a stand for what is right. We are watching political leaders, who know about and see the corruption and they are calling it out from the top of their lungs and doing all that they have the power to do, be absolutely slammed and demonized for speaking truth.

When has the battle ever been so vivid? When have we ever seen it play out as if we were watching revelation unfolding. The battle is real! We can see it, but are we ready?

"The ropes of death were wrapped around me; the torrents of destruction terrified me. The ropes of Sheol entangled me; the snares of death confronted me." Psalm 18:4-5

David watched real battles play out in his life. He had people literally want to see him die because God had anointed him for His divine purpose. The enemy wanted to silence him, to see him snuffed out before his place in history was secured, but God was in control of it then, just like He is now. David knew his God, and even though fear crept up from time to time, he knew what to do.

"I called to the Lord in my distress, and I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry reached His ears."
Psalm 18:6

No matter what is raging around you. No matter what you are seeing play out before your eyes, the lesson we all need to remember is that we can always cry out to God and He will hear us, and when it is time for Him to act, He will act and the world will tremble in fear, because vengeance belongs to God and He will come to our defense.

"Then the earth shook and quaked; the foundations of the mountains trembled; they shook because He burned with anger." Psalm 18:7

Read the rest of Psalm 18 today. Read all about what God does in defense of the ones He loves. You have nothing to fear in this war that is raging if God is on your side, and you are on His. Cry out to Jesus, and ....Watch What God Does!

God Bless!

It is so easy to get swept up in all the talk right now. It is only natural to form an opinion about what we think happened or is happening.

"Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God's word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things, center your mind on them, implant them in your heart."
Philippians 4:8 Amp.

When the world is in chaos and the news is crazy, and everyone is shouting their opinions, there is only one opinion that truly matters...What does God say about it? He tells us to learn to be content, self-sufficient through Christ, not disturbed or uneasy, regardless of our circumstances. (verse 11)

Watching the news and searching social media about today's events will lead you to believe one thing or another, but what God says is that He is in control, that not one hair falls from our heads that He is not aware of. It says that He decides when someone lives and when someone dies, that our times are in His hands. It says that we have refuge in Him.

What we have witnessed in these past few days is God's divine intervention. God is showing everyone that even though man makes plans, God controls the outcome. So let's all focus on the One who truly is in control, and not let all the chaos take our minds down the rabbit holes.

"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit."
Philippians 4:23

God Bless!
