On Sunday, November 1, we will honor All Saints Sunday in both of our services, by remembering loved ones who have died since last All Saints Sunday during a time of lighting candles and prayer. Apart from a little Swiss chard and some kale we're officially done with our gardening season. Just need to put away some hoses, take some compost to the city compost site, and a few raised beds need to be cleared. This is what we picked today. Glad it didn't freeze last night! Peppers, tomatoes, rutabaga, and eggplant. Now it's time to sit down with a stack of seed catalogs and plan out our next season. Lessons learned this year: Soaker hoses work great and save many hours of watering time. Don't plant things too close together. And the kale is delicious in cooler weather, mmmm! Wanna join the gardening committee?

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the history, cultures, and ongoing leadership of Indigenous peoples. We recognize that Indigenous communities are not simply part of our nation's past. They are living, thriving communities continuing to defend their sovereignty, protect their lands, and shape their futures.

Honoring Indigenous peoples requires more than acknowledging historical injustices. It means confronting the lasting harms of colonization, challenging efforts to erase Indigenous histories, and standing alongside Native communities in their struggles for justice and self-determination.

As people of faith committed to justice, we believe solidarity must move beyond words and into action. Indigenous sovereignty, dignity, and liberation are not negotiable.

What role does the Holy Spirit play in our lives? Better yet, what is the Holy Spirit? How often do we think about the Holy Spirit? If you are like me, not often. We'll take a look at what the Bible teaches about the Holy Spirit from the Hebrew Scriptures to the New Testament.

This bible study is based on the work of Adam Hamilton, "The Holy Spirit." It will be a multimedia approach lasting five (5) weeks. Class will be held on Tuesdays from 1:30-2:30 pm in Fellowship Hall beginning on October 20, 2026 and ending on November 17, 2026. All materials will be provided for you. There is nothing to buy. Just let Jackie know if you are coming so that materials will be ready for you (920-973-7501, [email protected] or put a note in her mail box.) Please join us for fellowship, fun, discussion and treats.

United Women In Faith Walk the Labyrinth
On August 19, 2026 the Sheboygan chapter of United Women in Faith visited our Lakeshore UWIF group to learn about the labyrinth. A short presentation was given by Jackie Ackerman after which Sandy Klein led both groups out to the labyrinth to experience activities of meditation and listening for God. Upon completion, each lady received a Prayer Journal to record their experience. Then all retired to Fellowship Hall for a meal and socialization. Following the meal, the groups went to the West of the Lake Gardens. This was a full and enjoyable morning. Thank you to all who helped to carry this out and thank you to the

Dear Lakeshore Family, it’s impossible to find the words to adequately express my thanks and gratitude for your gifts, prayers and understanding upon my retirement from LUMC. Most of all, I thank you for your loving friendship! Your kindness and generosity will forever hold a special place in my heart and will sustain both Michael and me in the days ahead. I’m leaving the office in good hands with Barb Foster and I’m certain you will give her as much support as you’ve given me over the years. WARMING TREE COMING OCTOBER 1st
The days are getting shorter and the nights are cooler, the gardens are not as productive as they once were, and the apple orchards are ripe for picking…all signs that fall is upon us. Soon leaves of gold and red will cover the ground and we will begin to add layers of sweaters and jackets. Most of us are fortunate enough to afford warm clothing, but that is not the case with many of our neighbors. On October 1 st the Warming Tree will be in place in the gathering area for your contributions of gloves, scarves, sweaters, hats, socks, and other warm clothing items. They will then be donated to area schools, warming shelters, and other agencies.

Our gardening season is almost complete. Time for final harvesting, garden cleanup, and some soil testing and off season amendments,plus planning for next year, and a little celebration of the garden committee!
