Touring historic buildings can be whimsical--but living out of one is not.
Summit endeavors to keep our historic building while improving its usefulness. We've shown friends examples of our building's old electrical system, including porcelain knob-and-tube wiring from two centuries ago. It's the kind of thing that makes you say, "Wow, that's fascinating."
And then, a second later: "Also… that probably needs to be replaced."
That's the Grandview in a nutshell right now.
It is beautiful. Historic. Deeply meaningful. And very, very ready for some upgrades.
One student named Gabriel said of Summit, "What is going on here is something I didn't even know was possible."
What is happening in this place is deeply alive and deeply relevant, even if some of the infrastructure is not.
We are training young Christians to meet modern challenges with biblical truth, while parts of the building are still reminding us what America looked like in 1891.
We don't want to merely patch an old building. We want to prepare it for the next four generations of students, leaders, teachers, and influencers who will be trained here.
Before June 30, every dollar given will be matched up to $3 million.
Would you help us replace what needs replacing and preserve what is worth preserving?
Comment HOTEL to join us in even just a small way this summer!
