Deliverance Testimony: How Jesus Set Me Free from the Slavery of Ma********on
My name is Samuel, I’m 40 years old, I’m from Cameroon, and today I want to open my heart and testify about the grace I received from Jesus Christ. What I’m about to share is painful, but necessary. For years, I was trapped by an invisible chain: ma********on.
It all started during my teenage years, as it does for many. I thought it was “normal,” “natural,” and that I could stop whenever I wanted. But over the years, I realized it wasn’t just a physical habit… it was a destructive spirit, a deep spiritual bo***ge that suffocated my soul.
Every time I felt that God wanted to bless me — an opportunity, a breakthrough, a promotion — I would do my best to pray, fast, and stay pure. And often, I managed to resist for weeks or months. But always, right at the door of the blessing, I felt oppressed. A sudden, violent, almost irrational temptation would push me to masturbate… And every time, I fell.
I can’t count the number of times I felt the heavens were about to open… only to lose everything in the hours that followed because of that fall. The enemy would whisper, “You don’t deserve this grace,” and I would end up convinced that God had turned His back on me. I prayed, cried, cried out to God, but I felt empty and far from Him.
My prayer life became dry. My heart was cold. I felt dirty, unable to pray for others, unable to speak boldly about God. My communion with the Holy Spirit was broken. I lived in shame and guilt, all while keeping a strong Christian face on the outside.
But it was in my greatest weakness that Jesus reached out His hand. One day, I fell to my knees, broken, and I said: “Lord, I don’t want to fight alone anymore. If You don’t come, I’m lost.”
He answered me through His Word: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
From that moment on, I changed my strategy. I stopped fighting on my own. I learned to lean on Jesus and His power. I replaced my silent battles with praise, meditation on the Word, and confession to mature brothers in the faith. Every temptation became an opportunity to take refuge in Christ.
Little by little, the temptation lost its grip. The Holy Spirit warmed my heart again. I began to feel His presence. Today, I am free. And this freedom, I did not earn it through willpower, but by His grace.
I share this today to tell someone suffering in silence: you are not alone. This battle, you cannot win it alone. But in Christ, you are more than a conqueror.

Jesus set me free, and He can set you free too. Don’t let the enemy destroy your destiny. Return to the Source. Jesus is waiting for you, and He doesn’t condemn you: He wants to restore you.
Be blessed.
