Coming Together of Christians or Believers
Why go to Church on Sunday ?
Why attend Bible Study ? Why attend Prayer Meet ?
1. It is God’s command to be with other believers
2. It helps us encourage one another to continue with our walk and relationship with the Lord Jesus .
“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
Hebrews 10:25 NLT
2. There is blessings when we come together in unity as brothers and sisters
“How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!
And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.”
Psalms 133:1, 3 NLT
3. We learn and grow in the Word of God .
There is blessings in reading the Bible
There is blessing in listening to the Bible
There is blessing in obeying the Bible .
Triple Blessing!!!!
“God blesses the one who reads the words of this prophecy to the church, and he blesses all who listen to its message and obey what it says, for the time is near.”
Revelation 1:3 NLT
————————————
How do we treat each other in the church or bible group or with other Christians?
1. Treat each other with respect especially women and children .
“Never speak harshly to an older man, but appeal to him respectfully as you would to your own father. Talk to younger men as you would to your own brothers. Treat older women as you would your mother, and treat younger women with all purity as you would your own sisters.”
1 Timothy 5:1-2 NLT
2. Love one another with pure motive with pure love not with evil motive .
Loving one another without expecting anything in return .
Honor one another . Do not take advantage of others.
“Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;”
Romans 12:10 NKJV
3. Love one another like Jesus did .
Treat each other like Jesus .
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.””
John 13:34-35 NKJV
4. Treat each other without selfishness.
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
Philippians 2:3-4 NKJV
