On this day, we celebrate the independence and liberty that we have here in our nation, the United States of America. These are not to be taken for granted, for they are blessings that God has given us for the sake of advancing his Kingdom and blessing our neighbor. As we celebrate the liberties and privileges that we have here in this nation, may we also reflect upon and contemplate the liberties and privileges that we have in Christ, who is the King over that heavenly city wherein our true citizenship lies.

"Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our heritage: We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favour and glad to do thy will. Bless our land with honourable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion, from pride and arrograncy, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people all our many kindreds and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in thy name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to thy law, we may show forth thy praise among the nations of the earth. In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail, all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

The Feast of Saint Peter the Apostle

Today we give thanks for St. Peter the Apostle: Simon the fisherman whom Jesus called from his nets, the disciple who boldly confessed Jesus as “the Messiah, the Son of the living God,” and the servant who, after failure and restoration, was charged by the risen Christ to “feed my sheep.” In the Anglican tradition, Peter’s feast turns our eyes not to Peter apart from Christ, but to the apostolic witness on which the Church is built: faith confessed, mercy received, and the Gospel boldly proclaimed. Peter reminds us that Christ forms imperfect people into faithful servants, calls his Church to unity and truth, and sends us to shepherd others in his love.

Join us in this prayer and as always, let us know how we can be praying for you.

“O Almighty God, who by thy Son Jesus Christ didst give to thy apostle Saint Peter many excellent gifts, and commandedst him earnestly to feed thy flock: Make, we beseech thee, all bishops and pastors diligently to preach thy holy Word, and the people obediently to follow the same, that they may receive the crown of everlasting glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”

Join us tonight for a Healing Service you don't want to miss!

St. James the Apostle instructs us, "Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect" (James 5.14-16, CSB).

As a church that takes this instruction seriously, Church of the Holy Trinity: An Anglican Mission will have a Wholeness and Healing Service on Saturday, June 27, at 7pm. We will celebrate this service at Newell Christian Chapel at 235 Lamarque St., Mandeville, LA 70448.

If you are in need of healing and/or deliverance from physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual ailment, then we would love for you to join us and receive prayer for healing and anointing with oil.

We believe that Jesus is mighty to save and heal, and we believe that he still does so today. We pray that you would come and receive the healing that he has for you, whatever it may be. See less

Preparing the way. Pointing to Christ. Living with holy courage.

Today we celebrate the Feast of St. John the Baptist, the prophet who prepared the way for Christ. John’s life was marked by courage, humility, and holy expectation: he called people to repentance, pointed beyond himself, and declared, “Behold, the Lamb of God.” In the Anglican tradition, this feast reminds us that the Church’s calling is the same as John’s: to bear witness to Christ with boldness, to make straight the way of the Lord, and to live with the humility that says, “He must increase, but I must decrease.”

“Almighty God, by whose providence thy servant John the Baptist was wonderfully born, and sent to prepare the way of thy Son our Saviour by preaching of repentance: Make us so to follow his doctrine and holy life, that we may truly repent according to his preaching; and after his example constantly speak the truth, boldly rebuke vice, and patiently suffer for the truth’s sake, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
