Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church is a growing parish in western Mandeville, north of New Orleans. MQP is a warm and welcoming Catholic community that includes a Catholic school, Parish School of Religion, youth group, and an array of adult formation opportunities.

One is wide, easy and comfortable. The other is narrow, demanding and leads to life.

Jesus does not hide the cost of discipleship. Following Him takes courage, sacrifice and a daily choice to trust Him over the easier path.

So the question is simple:

**Which road are you choosing today?**

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day from MQP!

A reminder that the Mary, Queen of Peace parish office is closed today, Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Regular office hours will resume tomorrow.

As we enjoy this day of rest, may we give thanks for the gifts and dignity of work, the people who make our communities thrive, and the opportunity to spend time with those we love.

However you spend today, we pray it’s filled with rest, gratitude, and a little time to encounter Jesus in the ordinary moments of life.

Comparison is a dangerous measuring stick.

The Pharisee looked at the tax collector and decided he was doing just fine. But Jesus reminds us that the goal is not to look better than the person next to us.

The goal is to become like Him.

Jesus is the measure of our faith, our humility, our mercy and our love.

So instead of asking, "how am I doing compared to them?" ask:

"Am I becoming more like Jesus?"

The devil thought one Word could not change much.

But that Word was **Jesus** — and everything changed.

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. He still meets us today, still calls us by name and still asks the question that changes everything:

**“Who do you say that I am?”**

At MQP, our mission is to foster life-changing encounters with Jesus. But every encounter eventually asks for a response.
