“Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of your wonders. From where the sun rises to where it sets, you inspire shouts of joy.” Psalm 65:8

As November comes to a close, we are filled with awe at the wonders of God. His glory is displayed day after day. The faithfulness of God is revealed each morning as the sun rises to show God’s handiwork and to announce His new mercies. Each evening, the sun sets, often with brilliant colors and rays reaching far to close out the day He has made.

From the east to the west, sunrises and sunsets bookend the light of each day. These wonders of the Lord are a testimony — rejoicing and spreading joy and giving reason for us to rejoice and lift our voices with joy!

We thank the Lord for the beauty of the consistent setting sun and for the opportunity it signifies to rest well until dawn. God is great and greatly to be praised!

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” Psalm 19:1

“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” Romans 11:33

This iceberg is a piece of the Dawes glacier in the Endicott Arm of Alaska. The ice was such a stunning blue and was like a floating gem in the ocean. “It’s just the tip of the iceberg” phrase came to mind because we really have no idea how much ice was underneath the waters.

“Beauty is only skin deep” is another phrase that comes to mind. But, we know that what is going on in the inside needs to be beautiful! We need depth to our thinking, our conversations, to who we are. We need depth in our study of the Word so it can take root in our hearts and grow deep.

We are thankful for the depth of God’s riches of mercy, love, wisdom, and knowledge. They are so deep we can’t discover them all! We will forever be learning and forever be amazed. His Word is full with beautiful beginnings and glimpses of His greatness. He has miraculously allowed us to have the earnest of our inheritance here on Earth through the gift of the Holy Ghost—Christ in us, the hope of glory!

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.” Psalm 103:2-3

In a hurting, broken, and diseased world, most (if not all) are in need of a healing at some point in life. There are physical needs, emotional needs, mental needs, and certainly spiritual needs.

Jesus was moved with compassion for those in need of healing during His ministry on Earth. He healed incurable diseases and He sat with the Samaritan woman at the well. He cast demons out of tormented souls and He raised the daughter of Jairus from her death bed. I have no doubt He is still moved with our need for healing today!

I am overwhelmed with thankfulness for the times I’ve experienced the hand of healing in my own body, witnessed Jesus touch physical needs in the lives of our own family and friends, and for the numerous testimonies of His healing power in others over the years. He is the greatest Physician you could ever find!

He is also the Balm of Gilead and is able to heal and pour into the broken hearts and minds in ways that no man could ever reach. He heals the wounds no eye can detect. Thank the Lord He is the Master of restored souls!!

“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.” Jeremiah 30:17

“Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.” Psalm 77:14

There is miracle after miracle listed in scripture from the Old Testament with creation, Noah’s Ark, manna in the wilderness, the Lord fighting Israel’s battles, and the widow woman’s oil and meal never running dry to the New Testament with Jesus providing fish and bread to thousands, healings of blind eyes and leprosy, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. These scriptures build faith and encourage us.

There are miracles around us all the time. From the gift of life at conception to the new born baby, to the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly, to the quick moments all we do is call on Jesus and He instantly assists or provides, to the oceans and their changing tides only going as far as the sandy shores that stop them, to the intricate details of each and every snowflake, to a sinful life being born again and made new…

Thank God for these miracles which are the amazing wonders of God! He does excellent things and we need to pause and look for them.

Living Word Apostolic Church is waiting with eager anticipation to see what the Lord is going to do for a miracle in Mandan! We give thanks for the promises of God for a building to gather in and for the souls who will fill it! 🙌🏻

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

They say the average ant can carry up to 50 times its body weight. That’s incredible! That is equivalent to us being able to carry several TONS. Our neck muscles and vertebrae have the strength to constantly support our heads, which are roughly 11 pounds of weight.

While sometimes it feels like we have the weight of the world on our shoulders, thank God that the earth is His footstool and He has it all in control!

I’m thankful for the physical, mental, and emotional strength the Lord has allowed me to have. But, greater still is the spiritual strength He gives and is. Without Him I am nothing. The joy of the Lord is my strength! God is my refuge and strength! The Lord is my strength and my song!

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. The LORD is their strength, And he is the saving strength of his anointed.” Psalm 28:7-8

“The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” Exodus 14:14

This verse is speaking about the children of Israel as they stood with the Red Sea before them and the Egyptian armies behind them. With a promise and a call for trust in God, the waters parted and they were saved!

As long as God is going before me, behind me, and surrounding me on all sides like a shield about me, and I’m equipped and skilled with the armor of God, I don’t have to fear or back down from any battle!

In fact, I can be thankful for the battles! Battles will likely be daunting, exhausting, heavy, relentless, strenuous, and/or feel lonely. They will test, try, and strengthen.

Battles are often fought and won in secret. David’s private battles with the bear and lion became his giant of a battle in public. If you do not back down or relinquish territory, you will gain ground, overcome, be victorious, and become more rooted down!

This is how we can be thankful for battles. As children of God, our battles are meant to be won! God is the Victor and He knows no defeat.

So while it may be difficult to give thanks for a battle when you’re in the heat of it, give thanks in all things because the Lord is fighting for you!

“…Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15

“Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.” Proverbs 23:22

No matter our age, we fall under the instruction of Proverbs (as long as the father and mother are in line with Scripture and Godly principles.) In fact, consider the last half of that verse. If your mother is old, you are probably an adult…

We give thanks to God for our parents who are also wonderful grandparents. As we were younger, they taught us the commandments of the Lord and how to love the House of God, instilled Godly values, and guided us with wisdom.

Today, they are beautiful examples of how to still be faithfully serving God, of how to be pillars of prayer, of loving the Word and hiding it in their hearts, and how to still be loving one another in their life-long commitment of marriage.

It’s a pattern. Do and sow things in God’s way and you’ll reap bountiful benefits even for generations! He is faithful to His Word!

“Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.” Exodus 20:12
