Our 2nd to final service as Hope City Church was shared together with . It was a time come together as one body. 🤍

In every marking season of building, stretching and even closing moments for new ones, God continues to be worthy of all our praise.

We continue to believe this:
222 Cedar St, Manchester NH is still marked for His glory. It has been prayed over for more years than we can count. The neighborhood has been marched around and covered before Hope City, during and now after.

What the Lord has started, he will finish.

There is no name greater....
no name more worthy then
the matchless name of Jesus.
.... Join us this coming Sunday as Hope City Church shares its final service with Pastors John & Evelyn Rivera and the body of believers together. 10:30am.

This is the time when we’re told to greet one another.

And here… people actually do.

They walk across the room to say hi to someone new or hug old friends. You literally have to squeeze by people in the center. It's pretty special.

And with only a few weeks left as Hope City Church, it feels even more special.

Scripture says,
“All the brothers and sisters here send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.” 1 Corinthians 16:20

And notice the worship team doing the same thing.

They aren’t just playing together.
They’re greeting each other, smiling at each other, and worshiping together.

They’re part of the same space happening across the whole room.

We won’t always have a service set up like this to remind us of
1 Corinthians 16:20, but we can choose to greet people like this wherever we go , inside and out of the church building.

see you tomorrow morning 10:30am

Worship is an outpouring of what’s inside of you.

Sarah shows us that worship isn’t just on a stage in a church.

Whether she’s singing or caring for her children, she lives with a heart that trusts Jesus. That is her form of worship.

Wherever you are, let your worship be just as present.

After 16 at Hope City Church and over 30 years in ministry, Pastors John and Evelyn Rivera are retiring from full time ministry.
This decision does not come lightly, but is in anticipation of what God has for them, and this next season of life.

John and Evelyn moved here in 2010 during a snowstorm (how New England!) away from their children and family, to do what the Lord called them to. During their time with Hope City, they dove into serving their community. The church hosted neighborhood meetings, ROCA Kidz Club opened their second location, Adventures in Missions opened a New England hub, and a Breakfast ministry served Manchester’s most vulnerable people. The Center City won’t ever be the same!

Although this news may come as a surprise, our Pastors believe God’s work is not yet finished at 222 Cedar Street. LifeWay Church led by Pastor Juan Saa and his family, will move into Hope City’s space with fresh vision and the same Christ-centered compassion.

Please join us on Palm Sunday, March 29th to celebrate the life and legacy of our wonderful leaders and Pastors. We are so grateful for their sacrifice, diligence, and obedience. Let’s join together to pray, clap, laugh, cry, and send our pastors off!

Some people don’t just preach the Word,
they live it with people.

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Just like this boy is joining in worship with his dad, God invites you to join in with Him.
And there’s no better place to do that than with a body of brothers and sisters in Christ.
Come like a child. Full of faith.
Ready to receive.
Sometimes learning is participating and watching joy walk in the room.

Join us tomorrow as we worship, grow in the Word, and encounter God together at Hope City Church, 10:30am-12pm

I stepped into Hope Kids at the last minute with nothing prepared because there was a need.
As we walked into the room, I said a quick prayer…"Lord what do you want me to do? What do you want me to teach them?"
And I immediately thought about the painful cut on my pointer finger and nuckle.

It's amazing how one small injury affected my whole hand....
How grabbing things felt different....
How it bothered me and still does as i write this.

Why should one finger matter so much
when I still had so many others to use?

So I asked the kids to share about a time they had a cut or a scratch.
They all had amazing stories of scraped knees, paper cuts, sore fingers.
Then we opened to 1 Corinthians 12 , one body, many parts.

We talked about how the eye needs the ear,
the hand needs the foot,
and even an injured finger needs the rest of the body to support it. It would be so boring if we were just a bunch of ears!

And then we talked about them.
That they are the Body of Christ...
even at 4 to 10 years old.
I told them that they are needed.
And that we need them.

I handed out printer paper and crayons.
We passed them around to show how one part helps another.
But before they drew anything, we paused to pray together. It was a quiet sweet moment.
We asked the Holy Spirit to show each of them what the Body of Christ looks like…
and what their part in it is.

And God showed up.
He spoke to each one of them in their own way. They were incredible participators in praying, listening and coloring.

No fancy setup. No big production.
Just kids, crayons, and the presence of God.

Let this be a reminder to each of us,
ministry isn’t about chasing numbers or wanting something big....
It’s about being effective at making disciples, followers of Jesus Christ.
..Raising disciples, not numbers
