Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at McLean Bible Church Prince William! 🌸

Today, we celebrate moms, grandmothers, and the spiritual moms who have faithfully loved, encouraged, prayed for, and pointed others to Jesus.

We are celebrating together in a few special ways today:

🌼 Encouragement Garden
As you walk in today, you may notice our Encouragement Garden filled with sweet, funny, and heartfelt words from our Kids Quest children about their moms. We hope you take a moment before you leave to read them and smile. If your child wrote on a plate, we’ll make sure it gets home with you next week as a keepsake to cherish.

🧁 Rock Moms – Muffins with Mom
A special shoutout to all our moms of Rock Students (6-12th grade) who are joining us this morning for Muffins with Mom from 10:30-11:15 in the Rock!

💌 A Place for Gratitude & Encouragement
We also know Mother’s Day can bring mixed emotions. In the lobby, we have a notecard station where you can write a message of gratitude, love, encouragement, or hope to someone who may need it today.

🌷 For Those Carrying Grief or Longing
We want to acknowledge those who are grieving the loss of a mother or child, walking through miscarriage, infertility, or deep longing. You are seen, loved, and not forgotten.

At the back of the room, to the left of the exit, we have flowers available as a small reminder of that truth. And if you see someone holding a flower today, maybe offer a hug, a prayer, or a simple reminder that they are not alone.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him…” – Romans 15:13

Most people don’t struggle to read the Bible… they struggle to understand how it all fits together.

This Sunday, we’re launching a two-week class designed to change that.

Understanding the Story of Scripture will help you see the Bible not as disconnected stories—but as one unified story of God’s plan to rescue and restore His people.

Week 1: The Old Testament
Creation. Covenant. Kings. Exile.
See how it all points forward.

Week 2: The New Testament
Jesus. Fulfillment. Mission.
Discover what it means for your life today.

If you’ve ever felt confused, stuck, or unsure where to start… this is for you.

Join us this Sunday at 9am.
April 19 + 26

Let’s make sense of the story together. Sign up at mcleanbible.org/pw/classes today.

Join us this Easter and be part of what God is doing.

We’re praying for something only He can do….
that many would be rescued from spiritual death to life.
That hearts would be opened.
That names would be called…and lives forever changed.

We’ve prayed.
We’ve prepared.
And now we’re trusting the Lord with the results.

“Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God.”
-William Carey

Come expectant. 🙌

Maybe for some of us, along the way, we were taught that following Jesus means trying to be a good person. While striving to do the right thing is never wrong, sometimes it can lead us to believe that the Gospel is about behavior modification. The Gospel is meant to transform us.

Jesus didn’t come to make you a slightly better version of yourself, but rather He died and took your sins upon Himself so that you could become NEW!

God’s Word says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV

“Jesus sees you in your suffering” | David Platt | Seen

You are not invisible in your suffering 🤍
If you are walking through a heavy season right now, hear this: Jesus sees you. He sees every single layer of what you are struggling with, even the complicated parts no one else understands.

He sees your:
• Relational tension: The brokenness with a spouse, child, family member, or friend.
• Physical pain: The quiet aches, the disabilities, and the physical trials confounding doctors.
• Mental battles: The anxiety, depression, panic, and PTSD that go deeper than words.
• Spiritual struggles: The hidden struggles, the exhaustion, and the quiet doubts.

He knows it all, and He sees it with crystal-clear clarity. You don’t have to carry the weight of being misunderstood today. Rest in the truth that He knows, and He is with you 🙏

Share this with someone who needs this reminder today, or save it for a moment when you feel unseen.
