When Bishop Timothy Senior was appointed the bishop of the Diocese of Harrisburg in 2023, he didn’t pretend to have all the answers. Like any bishop stepping into a new diocese, he was entering unfamiliar ground: new people, new dynamics, a different history.

When in Rome - you never know who you’ll run into!

Today, Matt Reichert, one of our Leadership Consultants, had an unexpected reunion with CLI coaching alumnus Fr. Sam from the Diocese of Billings! They bumped into each other at the Church of St. Philip Neri on his feast day, just feet away from the saint’s tomb. Matt served as Fr. Sam’s coach in CLI’s former Rother Forum, an ongoing formation service for priests.

When Dan was younger, he thought of God as a distant judge and life as a set of scales that weigh one's good and bad with the goal of simply making sure that the good side outweighs the bad at the end of this earthly journey — even if only by an ounce.

Thankfully, he has had a few key moments with the Lord in his adult life that have deepened his understanding of God the Father and God the Son, how sin and mercy really work, and the nature of this transactional mindset he has of this road we all walk.
