Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord (Psalm 33:12). On this 250th anniversary of America’s Independence, we give thanks for the courage of our founders and the many who have sacrificed for freedom. May we continue to seek God’s guidance as a church and as a nation. Happy 4th of July!

We’re grateful to be hosting Dr. Anna Thomas today for our “Caring for Caregivers” seminar.

So many of us find ourselves caring for aging parents, spouses, family members, or friends. It’s a privilege, but it can also be overwhelming at times. Dr. Anna shared practical advice on how to care well without losing ourselves in the process, helping us move from being caregivers to becoming care leaders.

One of the important reminders from today’s seminar is that disease, disability, and end of life issues are real and, ultimately, something all of us may face. The more we learn and prepare today, the better equipped we will be to care for our loved ones and to ensure that our own care is optimized when the time comes.

It was an outstanding seminar, thoughtfully organized by our church’s CARE Ministry. Thank you, Dr. Anna, for sharing your experience and wisdom, and thanks to everyone who took the time to join us. We hope everyone left encouraged, better equipped, and reminded that caring for yourself is an important part of caring for others.
