‘Out of Context’

All through history people have taken passages of scripture, and used them in a way God never intended. Over the years as these verses were taken out of context it resulted in a disconnect from the meta narrative of God’s great rescue mission of the world. Beginning April 12thth and running through May 3rd Pastor Kenny explores what happens when God’s Word is taken ‘Out of Context’.

THE DARKEST HOUR
The crown.
The carry.
The nails.
The cross.
Friday of Holy Week is the day we remember the weight of the sacrifice.
Jesus was mocked, beaten, and led to the cross.
He carried what we could not carry on our own.
He wore the crown of thorns. He endured the nails. He gave His life in love.
What looked like the darkest hour...
It was actually the moment grace was being poured out.
"But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed."
- Isaiah 53:5
Good Friday reminds us that Jesus stepped into suffering so we could step into freedom.
The cross was not the end of the story.
But it was the price of redemption.

You don’t have to go back the way you came.

For so many of us, the road behind us is filled with pain, regrets, and choices we wish we could undo. And sometimes… it feels easier to go back to what’s familiar even if it’s not healthy.

But recovery is about choosing a new direction.

It’s about trusting that God has something better ahead, even when the path forward feels uncertain. You are not stuck. You are not too far gone. And you are not defined by where you’ve been.

Every step forward, no matter how small, is a step toward freedom.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” — Isaiah 43:19

Father God, thank You for making a way when it feels like there is no way. Help us to let go of the past and trust You with our future. Give us the courage to take a new path, even when it’s uncomfortable. Remind us that with You, change is possible and freedom is real. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

💬 If you’re choosing a new path today, comment: “New Direction.”

Life can be challenging. At times, it can feel overwhelming, lonely, and heavy. But one of the most important truths we learn in recovery is this: you don’t have to face it alone.

During our Celebrate Recovery IN-PERSON Training Conference, Pastor Johnny Baker reminded us that hope is real and freedom is possible. Across the world, millions of people have found hope and healing through Celebrate Recovery.

Every week, people walk through the doors carrying hurts, hang-ups, and habits, and they discover something powerful:
A community that cares, a safe place to heal, and a Savior who never gives up on them.

Through the power of Jesus Christ, lives are being transformed. Chains are being broken. Families are being restored. And people are finding the freedom they’ve been searching for.

No matter where you are in your journey, there is hope for you, too.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28

Father God, thank You for reminding us that we were never meant to carry our burdens alone. Thank You for the healing, hope, and freedom that comes through Jesus Christ. For those who are hurting today, we ask that You lead them to a place of recovery, community, and restoration. Break the chains that hold people back and continue to guide every step of this journey. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Servants of Christ. Stewards of Hope.

Recovery reminds us that our lives are no longer just about ourselves. When we surrender our hurts, hang-ups, and habits to Jesus, something powerful happens: our story begins to serve a greater purpose.

In Celebrate Recovery, we’re not perfect people with everything figured out. We’re simply servants of Christ, walking together and sharing the hope God has revealed to us.

Every testimony shared, every small group conversation, every prayer spoken is part of something bigger. God entrusts us with the beautiful mystery of His grace freely given so that we can help others experience freedom, too.

Your story matters.
Your journey matters.
And God can use it to bring hope to someone else.

“This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed.”
— 1 Corinthians 4:1

Where is God calling you to serve today? Sometimes the greatest ministry comes from simply sharing what God has done in your life.

Father God, thank You for trusting us with the message of Your grace. Help us remain humble servants of Christ and faithful stewards of the hope You’ve revealed. Use our stories, our struggles, and our victories to help others find healing and freedom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Tonight in Malvern… 💥Confession isn’t about shame. It’s about freedom.

Secrets keep us sick.
Isolation keeps us stuck.
But when we bring the truth into the light, something powerful happens.

James 5:16 says:
“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.”

Healing doesn’t just happen when we admit our wrongs to God.
There’s something deeply transformative about sharing our struggles with safe people who will walk with us in grace and truth.

At Celebrate Recovery, we believe confession is not about being condemned — it’s about being set free.

When we confess:
• Shame loses its grip
• Secrets lose their power
• Healing begins

You don’t have to carry it alone anymore.

Join us tonight as we talk about Lesson 12: Confess and discover how honesty and community open the door to real healing.

🕊️ Everyone is welcome.
You don’t have to have it all together to show up.
