My beliefs and thoughts concerning Freewill Part 2.
Greetings, my brothers and sisters in Christ, family, friends, and followers. Our heavenly Father has granted us another day in which to worship and serve Him. Let us all do so without hesitation, taking on the whole armor of God, that we might stand against the wiles of Satan and his demons that are ever present in our world today. Always ready and willing to defend the gospel of our Lord and Savior. While presenting the gospel to all that we come in contact with, never letting an opportunity pass us by.
On Monday, August 24th, I posted my beliefs and thoughts on the first 2 of the 4 questions concerning freewill that I posted back on August 20th. Today, I am posting my beliefs and thoughts on questions 3 and 4 concerning freewill.
As I have previously stated, I fully realize this is a controversial subject for so many, and that some of you will likely unfriend or unfollow me. But I do not write to please man but to please and serve God, my heavenly Father. I do not write to gain financially, nor do I write to gain in popularity; I write about what I feel the Holy Spirit leads me to write about. To share the gospel of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with this lost and dying world.
It is my sincere desire and hope that my writings will be received in the spirit in which they have been written.
3. Assuming man has freewill, does this freewill let man choose to come to Christ?
4. Does man’s freewill and God’s divine will ever come together in man’s life? Or do they run parallel in time and never cross?
Instead of answering questions 3 and 4 separately. I am going to answer them together, as the answers are intertwined. But first, let us look back to the origin of freewill as I pointed out in part 1. The origin of man’s so-called freewill, if you will, came about as a result of Eve’s temptation by Satan, the delusion and deceitful act of freewill in the Garden of Eden. It was manifested after she gave the forbidden fruit to her husband, and they ate. Scriptures plainly state that then their eyes were opened; at that point, sin entered into the world, ushered in by man exercising the first act of freewill, on man’s part. Up until that time, man’s will was only to worship and serve God and to follow and please God. After they exercised their 1st choice in freewill, their 2nd freewill choice was to sew fig leaves together to cover themselves. And their 3rd freewill choice was to try to hide from God. And man has been trying to hide from God ever since, hiding behind Satan’s greatest delusion to man, freewill.
We established in part 1 that Adam and Eve were not created with freewill; their will was only to please and serve God. That Satan is the creator, the author, and the perpetrator of man’s freewill. And that the illusion or delusion, whichever you prefer, of man’s freewill is alive and well in the world today. We see it all through our daily lives: open rebellion against God. All in the guise of man’s freewill, free will to choose whichever sin they wish to participate in. Whether it be adultery, murder, thievery, homosexuality, transgenderism, pe******ia, no matter what it is, it is man exercising their free will, their free choice to do so. And people say that God gave man freewill, but if God gave man freewill, why would man act the way he does today? For God is not the author of confusion, nor is he the author of sin. Satan is the author of both confusion and sin. The Scriptures tell us that man’s heart only produces sinful thoughts; therefore, man’s will or freewill can only produce sinful, evil results. If this is true, and I believe the Scriptures fully indicate it is true, then how can man ever choose or decide to follow Christ on his own without divine intervention?
The Scriptures make it plain in John 6:44 that the only way anyone can come to Christ is if God draws them or chooses them.
John 6:44 KJV
“No man can come to me (Jesus), except the Father (God) which hath sent me (Jesus) draw (choose, elect) him: and I (Jesus) will raise him up at the last day.”
The choice is not man’s to make; the choice belongs to God. And when one says that they decided to follow Christ, they deny God the Father the glory due him and place it upon themselves, which is prideful and a sin. We read again in John 6:65 KJV.
“And he (Jesus) said, Therefore said I unto you, that NO MAN CAN COME UNTO ME (Jesus), EXCEPT IT WERE GIVEN UNTO HIM of my Father.”
Unless God calls you and sends the Holy Spirit to convict you of your sins, bringing you unto repentance, and God gives you the faith necessary to believe in his only beloved Son Jesus Christ, you will never be saved. One can claim all they want that they have decided to follow Christ, or that they have decided to accept Christ as their Savior, which is popular today. Unless God has called you and the Holy Spirit has convicted you, bringing you to repentance of your sins, and God by his grace has given you the faith necessary to believe in his Son Jesus Christ. You will never be saved; it is not, and never has been, your choice. It is solely at the discretion of God the Father. If you are a child of God, your name was written in the Lamb’s book of life before the foundation of the world. God, in His foreknowledge, knows the exact date and time of every child that he has called or is going to call.
Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV
8. For by grace (the grace of God) are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: (you have absolutely nothing to do with it. It is all 100% by the grace of God) it is the gift of God:
9. Not of works (there is absolutely nothing you can do; you cannot work your way to be a child of God), lest any man should boast (prideful, such is in saying you decided to follow Christ).
10. For we (the saved, the chosen, the elect) are his (God’s) artistry, created in Christ Jesus unto good works (to serve the Lord), which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
I pray that all understand that freewill is an illusion orchestrated by Satan. That man’s so-called freewill will never allow one to decide, or choose on their own, to follow Christ; it takes divine intervention from the Father, who must draw us to his Son Jesus Christ. Man’s so-called freewill can never cross God’s divine will in man’s life.
God’s divine will and man’s freewill can only run parallel to each other. For God’s divine will is sovereign and pure, while man’s so-called freewill is a delusion given to man by Satan that brings about evil and sinful deeds.
I know I have heard the arguments that what I am saying is that God picks and chooses whom he is going to save and whom he is not going to save. And you are right that is exactly what I said exactly what I have taught, because that is exactly what the Scriptures teach that unless a person is chosen of God, unless God is written, There name in the Lamb’s book of life before the foundation of the world, unless he sends the Holy Spirit to convict them of their sins and bring them to repentance, unless God by his marvelous grace gives them the faith necessary to allow them to believe in his beloved Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. They are doomed to spend eternity in torment.
Many have asked me how I can serve a God that chooses some and not others. How can I rationalize this? I answer that I cannot; my mind is not capable. No man’s mind is capable of rationalizing what God does, what God thinks, or why he chooses one and not the other. We are not called to rationalize what God has done or will do. We are called to serve him, not to second-guess him. We are called out from the world to be separated from the world, to read and study the Scriptures, and to be in prayer, asking for wisdom and knowledge, so that we may fight the good fight, for we battle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and the darkness of this world. We either stand with God or against God. It is that simple;
WHERE DO YOU STAND?
WITH GOD AND HIS ELECT?
OR WITH SATAN AND THE WORLD?
Let us become ever more diligent in our prayers and service to our heavenly Father and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Praying for wisdom and knowledge, while also praying several times a day for the salvation of unbelievers, for our loved ones, for the sick, not forgetting those who are serving in the military, or the nation of Israel, for our elected officials, and for our nations, which are becoming more godless with each passing day. Inspiring one another with our prayers that God’s will may be done in our lives, and in our service to our heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:16)
Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Revelation 22:20)
