Southwest District Association Update
The Executive Committee of the Southwest District Association met today at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church to receive reports, review finances, and make plans for upcoming events and ministries of our association.
Here’s what’s happening across the Southwest District:
🔹 CMBSC Congress of Christian Education
The Southwest District Association will host the CMBSC Congress of Christian Education, and the Southwest District Choir will provide selections during the opening musical. We encourage everyone to make plans to attend this exciting event.
🔹 SWD Congress of Christian Education
The Congress of Christian Education will be held July 12–16 at Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. We look forward to a week of spiritual growth, learning, and fellowship.
🔹 Midwinter Board Meeting and Leadership Conference
The Executive Board approved a resolution establishing a Midwinter Board Meeting and Leadership Conference. This new gathering is patterned after the meetings conducted by our National Baptist Convention and our State Convention. We are excited about this opportunity and look forward to the recommendations and plans that will be presented by the committee at the next Executive Board meeting.
🔹 Association Planning Committee
For the first time in the history of the Southwest District Association, a Planning and Restructuring Committee was established. This committee has been charged with evaluating, planning, and helping reshape the future of our association. We are anticipating a refreshed and renewed association when we convene in October at Lonoke Baptist Church in Texarkana.
✝️ As always, we continue to financially support Arkansas Baptist College. This year we have students from the southwest District Association who will be attending ABC.
