Dear Church Family,

As we talked about last week in worship, our nation has entered tornado season. Last night, tornadoes struck our state, Kankakee and Aroma Park. I admit that it hits me personally very hard, as Kankakee is my hometown, and many of my friends from HS grew up in Aroma Park. Let us be in prayer for all those in our state and across the country who have lost loved ones, homes, or businesses to these storms.

One of the ways we can help is through giving to the United Methodist Committee on Relief, they maintain a fund that gives away millions of dollars every year to people who are affected by Natural Disasters.

Dear all,

Dear Church family I got the following email today:

"Your Congregation is always so kind. If you are collecting anything - Malta Elementary is in need of Insulated - larger size gloves and mittens for pr***en age, we have a lot of soft gloves and also small sizes.
Any gently used snow pants and boots are also appreciated. (The kids can not play in the snow, they have to stay on the blacktop unless they have pants and boots on.)

Let's all make a push to help our local children at Malta Elementary!!! If you can donate any insulated gloves for older elementary kids, or boots or snow pants, bring them to church, and we will be sure they get to the school. Let's bless our kids this Christmas season!

Pray for the People of Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti, and the Bahamas. This hurricane is a monster. Particular prayers for the emergency personnel who will be trying to save lives in very dangerous conditions!
