FRIDAY // Men’s Bible Study – 6:15 AM @ Bookish
Start your Friday strong. We’re meeting early at Bookish in Malakoff to dive into 1 Corinthians 7—a chapter packed with wisdom on marriage, singleness, and living with undivided devotion to the Lord. Bring your Bible, grab a cup of coffee, and come ready to grow.

SUNDAY MORNING // Worship + BBQ Lunch
Join us at 9:00 or 10:30 AM as we gather to worship Jesus together.
After service, stay for our free BBQ lunch—good food, great company, and a perfect chance to connect with others in our church family. No need to sign up—just show up hungry.

SUNDAY NIGHT // The Forge – 6:00 PM
We’re getting real.
At The Forge this week, we’re hearing a powerful testimony, followed by teaching on one of the biggest battles men face today: po*******hy. This isn’t about shame—it’s about freedom. Jesus calls us out of the dark and into the light, and He gives us brothers to walk with.

🔥 Attention, Men! The Forge Kicks Off This Sunday at 6 PM! 🔥

It’s time to gather, grow, and gear up for the next semester of The Forge. We’re starting strong with our first session:

💡 Topic: The Foundation of Marriage: God’s Design & Purpose
📅 When: Sunday at 6 PM
📍 Where: First Baptist Church Malakoff

No matter your age or stage in life, the truths we’ll discuss are relevant for every man as we seek to align our lives with God’s design.

🍲 Kick-Off Chili Cook-Off at 5:15 PM! 🍲

Before the session starts, bring your best pot of chili ready to serve for a chance to win bragging rights (and maybe even the title of Chili Champ)!

✅ We’ll provide condiments and sides.
🏆 Winner will be chosen by popular vote—so bring your A-game and appetite!

Living the Christian life is sometimes an arduous and difficult journey, filled with obstacles and trials. It is a hard thing to say no to sin and its pleasures, in order to say yes to the Spirit and His fruit.

Encouragement is both an active and a passive experience. Actively, you must take hold of the truths of Scripture, along with the trustworthy promises of God’s Word, and allow the Spirit to embolden your obedience with this truth.

Passively, you are also filled with courage by other men. As you learn how to “carry one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2), you must also “encourage each other daily… so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception” (Hebrews 3:13). You encourage other men as you speak “only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear” (Ephesians 4:29). This happens as you learn how to “look not to [your] own interests, but rather to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4).

This is why every man needs Mutual Encouragement in order to live the Christian life.

Another Friday morning well spent with fellow men, the Word, and encouraging discussion.

We are becoming the men God created us to be. We aren’t perfect, but we are being perfected day by day through the Spirit’s work in our lives.

Trustworthy Accountability is essential for spiritual growth. As we study God's Word, every man will be challenged by Scripture to change an element of their lives—their thoughts, their attitudes, their behaviors, their habits, etc.—in order to take the next step of Scriptural application and obedience. What each man does in response to this biblical challenge is of upmost importance, for “each of us will give an account of himself to God” (Romans 14:12).

Without trustworthy accountability, men will never follow through with the changes they may acknowledge during a group session. This is, after all, how “iron sharpens iron… one person sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17). Every man must transition from good intention to obedient application. This is why we define and share our spiritual goals and maybe even develop an action plan to help us obey.

Through Trustworship Accountability, we confess sin (1 John 1:9), find healing (James 5:16), and are built up in the faith (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

What’s a good way to get a good group of men to gather?? Light up a couple grills and sear up some meat!!

Today we kicked off the Fall season of The Forge. Through God’s work in our lives, we are becoming the men God created us to be. We heard testimony after testimony of how God is shaping and fashioning us into the image of His Son—through the discipleship relationships developing at The Forge.

The Forge is where men are made. God does the making. We’re just tools in His hands.
