SOME THINGS JUST DON’T FIT ANYMORE.

This Sunday we continue our journey through Ephesians and our series, Living as His Church.

Paul says something powerful in Ephesians 4:

“…you must no longer live as the Gentiles do…” Ephesians 4:17

No longer.

The Christians in Ephesus still lived in the same city. They were surrounded by the same culture and many of the same temptations.

But they had learned Christ.

And because Jesus had changed them, there were some things from the old life that simply didn’t fit anymore.

What about us?

What happens when the world around us starts becoming the life among us? And what does it really look like for Christ to change not only the way we live, but the way we think and the way we treat one another?

What does it look like when a church begins to grow up in Christ?

This Sunday at the Malakoff church of Christ, we continue our journey through Ephesians and our series, Living as His Church.

For three chapters, Paul has shown us what God has done for His people. Then Ephesians 4 begins with a challenge:

“Walk worthy of the calling you have received.”

This Sunday we will open Ephesians 4:1–16 and discover what that means for us as a church today.

What makes a church STRONG?

Is it the size of the building? The number of people in the pews? The programs? The resources?

In Ephesians 3:14–21, Paul gets down on his knees and prays for the church, and what he asks God to do might challenge the way we think about strength.

Tomorrow morning we continue our journey through Ephesians with:

Paul reminds us that God is able to do “above and beyond all that we ask or think”, and in context, that promise has something powerful to say about what God can do through His church.

Have you ever looked at something happening in your life and wondered…

Sometimes we only see one moment, one circumstance, or one struggle. But Scripture reminds us that what we can see isn’t always the whole story.
