Some people go to Mass asking what they “get out of it.”

That’s the wrong question.

At Mass, you are not the audience, and the priest is not a performer.

You are standing at Calvary, where the sacrifice of Christ is made present again on the altar.

Heaven and earth meet, whether you feel it or not.

To be part of something so mysterious and so mind-blowing requires reverence. God is present!

“Ite, missa est.” You are sent.

Having encountered Christ, you are now sent to live like it.

Reminder - Fridays during Lent

⚜️REMINDER - PLENARY INDULGENCE ⚜️
Fridays of Lent - a plenary indulgence is available to all who piously recite the prayer “Look down Upon Me, Good and Gentle Jesus” after Communion, before an image of Christ crucified.

General conditions for a Plenary indulgence:
1. Be in a state of grace.
2. Receive Holy Communion.
3. Sacramentally confess your sins (within 20 days before or after the indulgenced work).
4. Pray for the Pope's intentions (an Our Father or Glory Be is fine).
5. Have an interior disposition of complete detachment from sin, even venial sin.
