🍎 Little Hands, Big Holidays! 🍯
Get ready for a hands-on celebration of the Jewish holidays designed especially for young children and their families!
Wednesday, September 9 | 4:30–6:00 PM
at Congregation Ohev Shalom
Together with PJ Library and Shalom Orlando, families will explore Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Simchat Torah through interactive activities, crafts, treats, and holiday fun.
Come make memories, get a little messy, and celebrate the holidays with us! ❤️

🍎 Ta’am Torah — “A Taste of Torah” begins this Sunday, August 23!
A fun, creative Jewish morning designed especially for 3- and 4-year-olds who are not yet in Pre-K. Children will enjoy Jewish stories, crafts, playtime, music, and snack while beginning to build their own connection to Jewish community.

🕘 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
👧 Ages 3 & 4
💙 Children attend independently — no parents needed
💲 $30/session for COS members | $40/session for guests

👩‍🍳 Cooking Through the Calendar begins Wednesday, August 26!
Our littlest chefs — Pre-K through 1st Grade and their families — will cook, eat, and learn their way through the Jewish calendar together. Each session connects hands-on cooking with the holidays and traditions we celebrate throughout the year.

What an incredible way to begin a new year at The Samra Religious School! 💙

Yesterday, we opened our doors to 157 students and their families, and there was something so special about seeing our building come alive with familiar faces, new families, excited students, dedicated teachers, and so much energy.

From welcoming our students for their first day of learning to gathering together for our Welcome Brunch, it was a wonderful reminder of what makes this community so meaningful. The excitement, conversations, laughter, and connections throughout the morning made me incredibly grateful to be part of it.

I am so excited for everything ahead this year and for all the ways we will continue to learn, celebrate, grow, and build community together.

We’re so excited to kick off a new year of Ohev Youth!

We are thrilled to officially welcome Yael Weinstein as Ohev Shalom’s new Director of Youth & Family Education!

Yael brings more than 25 years of experience creating meaningful Jewish learning experiences, strengthening Jewish identity, and building communities where children, teens, and families feel connected, supported, and inspired.

In her new role, Yael will lead the Samra Shamash Gotlib Religious School and oversee Ohev’s youth and family programming, working closely with our clergy, educators, staff, lay leaders, parents, and students.

Yael is excited to get to know each of our families and to begin building an engaging and meaningful year together.

Please join us in giving Yael a warm Ohev welcome! We are so excited for all that is ahead for Youth & Family Education at Congregation Ohev Shalom.
