Hello Friends,

Father's Day is a week away. Facebook will probably post a picture of the time we took my father in law to the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. We took a gondola ride with a man singing various songs, my father-in-law knew all the lyrics by heart. We watched as dementia took my father-in-law away piece by piece until he couldn’t recognize anyone in the family. He died a few years ago. My own father died twenty eight years ago of a massive stroke. I can’t help but think how much my father would have loved to meet our grandchildren. My father, besides being my best friend, was a religious man. He went to church every week, sometimes twice in the same day. He dedicated his life to people. In his younger years, he was a math teacher, a principal and eventually became a superintendent to the Oradell Elementary School in New Jersey. My brother, sister and I had to make the difficult decision to remove our father from life support and let him go home to be with God.
In life we all must make difficult decisions. Sometimes we want to put them off and not think about them hoping they will go away. The facts are clear. You can’t beat death. Death is inevitable.
Henri Nouwen wrote, “One of the greatest gifts we can offer our family and friends is helping them to die well. Sometimes they are ready to go to God, but we have a hard time letting them go. But there is a moment in which we need to give those we love the permission to return to God, from whom they came. We have to sit quietly with them and say: “Do not be afraid … I love you; God loves you … it’s time for you to go in peace. … I set you free to go home … go with my love.” Saying this is the greatest gift love can give.” I was able to do this for my dad. It wasn’t easy, but I’m thankful I got a chance to do it.
Even though my father’s death was a shock to all of us, one of the greatest gifts he gave to his children was to have his affairs in order. In his desk, we found his will along with other necessary paperwork. Would it surprise you to know more than half of all Americans who own property die without a will? This is unfortunate as wills are a relatively simple way to express your wishes.
I hope you will take the time to make sure your personal wishes are written down. This will remove a tremendous emotional burden from your loved ones.

Sunday, we continue with our sermon series “Drawn In, Living the Creative Life With God” The message for Sunday, is "Hover" and the scripture comes from the Gospel of Luke 4:1-13,

See you Sunday at 10am

Hello Friends,

Summertime is nearly upon us once again! For those of us who live where we actually experience the four seasons with all of various changes in temperature and precipitation, Summer is quite a welcome relief as the warmth of God's creation surrounds us.

I just wanted to take a moment to encourage you to continue to be faithful in your giving during the Summer months. While vacations are enjoyed by so many of our church family, and rightfully so I might add, the ministries of the church continue to move forward as lives are changed, and God is glorified through it all.

If you are one of those who will be vacationing this year, would you be sure to lift us up in prayer at various times during your break? I can't begin to tell you of the tremendous value your prayers are, as well as your financial support.

So often people wonder what God's will is for their lives, especially if they love the Lord and simply want to be obedient in their life journey as they move toward their eternal reward.

Let me share a wonderful scripture with you that is simple, yet powerfully shares God's will for you and me…

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV) "Be joyful always; pray continually;
give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Be joyful. Pray continually. Give thanks. As I look at those 3 points, I can't help but think that they are a continual cycle that can be in any order, yet they build off each other for tremendous fulfillment and purpose in life.

Tracey Bray will be giving the message this Sunday. I know you will all come out and support her. I will see you next week.

God Bless
Pastor Robyne

Leader: Let us come together as people of the cross and resurrection, children of the Father, reconciled by grace through the Son, and filled with God’s love through the Spirit.
People: We come to worship, to rejoice, and to trust in the Lord who loves us and cares for us.
Leader: Let us stand firm in God’s strength, putting on the full armor of God to stand against the schemes of the devil.
All: Amen.

Opening Prayer

Almighty God, We gather before You today with hearts full of gratitude. Even though the pressures of life, the uncertainties ahead, and the cares that clamor for our attention can weigh heavily on our spirits, Your Word reminds us— “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6).We ask You to help us cast our cares upon You, trusting in Your perfect plan and divine wisdom. Teach us to make prayer our first response, not a last resort, and to lift up our requests with faith and confidence. May our heart overflow with thankfulness, acknowledging Your past faithfulness and the countless blessings You have poured into our lives. Lord, help us find joy in the process of trusting You, even when the answers are not always clear. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen
