The voice like no other-
John 10:27
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
In the cool of the evening, the Lord came to visit Adam and Eve(Genesis 3:8). How awesome that had to be. The world was perfect, a paradise, a place where God looked upon and called all he created good. There was one issue the Lord said was not good—Adam's lack of companionship. Relationships and personal connections have always been important to God. The Love of God put Adam to sleep, and the Lord fashioned Eve from a rib.
None was more important than the bond he shared with the father and mother of humanity. At an appointed time each day, Adam and Eve enjoyed their close relationship with God, where he appeared from Glory to take a stroll with his favorite creation.
Unfortunately, we learn that Adam and Eve believed a lie that led to their disobedience and caused them to shun God. Yes, as unbelievable as it sounds, they hid from God as so many do today. The result of sin is disobedience. How is it that this tremendous mistake can be rectified? When we talk about restoring a relationship with God, we will find the first step is ours to make.
Although sin is what separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2), God is not silent! He speaks to us through his word, anointed messengers of God, divine impressions, miracles, circumstances, and even in judgment. His voice can be heard by those who desire and are hungry for his presence. Restoration starts with repentance. A genuine desire to walk with him through the garden is closer than you may think. A thought to share--- Instead of focusing on our needs, focus on Jesus, the object of our affection. Think of his goodness and love. Thank him for his mercy, his gentleness, his love for us. There's nothing like walking with Jesus in my personal garden of prayer.
