Pine Grove Magee

This is Opal Hughes. He was the son of John and Cola Hughes and was Nathan’s brother. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

During his service in WW2 , he was a Marine Corps Master Technical Sergrant and was reported missing and ultimatiely declared dead on Dec 27, 1943. His plane crashed enroute to Espiritu Santo, New Hebrides from Tontouta, New Caledonia. The plane wreckage was spotted a few miles south of Ouvea Island in the Loyalty Group, northwest of New Caledonia. Twenty three people lost their lives in the crash.

Is anyone in the Pine Grove area missing one of these dogs. They have been hanging around behind the church the last couple of days. They are very friendly and you tell the are someone’s pet

Happy 4th from 25+ years ago! Parade from Pine Grove to home of Orville and Grace Rankin to celebrate and enjoy watermelon and homemade ice cream.

THIS SUNDAY (6/16
Sunday school will again meet at the pastor’s home @10 as they are not completely finished cleaning in the church building. However we will be able to have our worship service in the sanctuary at 11.

We will be taking a love offering for the Cook family during the service.
