Dear Family and Friends of the Kimshew Cemetery District,
Because of the Camp Fire and the loss of over fourteen thousand property structures and the resulting loss of property tax to the county, our District will suffer a significant cut in revenue in the coming fiscal year. We operate on a very small percentage of the property taxes paid to Butte County.
For the past two years the State of California has “backfilled” the loss of revenue to Butte County but that has come to an end.
Kimshew Cemetery District operates with a volunteer five member Board of Directors, one District manager who maintains all six cemetery grounds, and one diligent Office Manager that works 20 hours a week.
With the cut in revenue we are really in a bind.
Since you have an interest in the cemeteries, can you find it in your heart to help us financially with a contribution, small or large, to allow this non-profit entity to continue to offer the same fine service that we have in previous years?
If you haven’t visited the Magalia and Stirling City cemeteries, please do so to see the many improvements that have been made.
Thanking you in advance,
Kimshew Cemetery District Board of Directors
Al Howard, Chairman
Jerry Wyckoff, Vice- Chairman
Bob Meyer, Trustee
Leslie Dunn, Trustee
Nirvana Haver, Trustee
Keith Musick, District Manager
Melanie McClure, Office Manager
