Old Home Sunday - August 30th at 12 Noon

Our worship leader for Old Home Sunday, August 30, is Pastor Laura Church who serves as pastor of the North Vienna United Methodist Church and the New Sharon United Methodist Church, graduating from the University of Maine and Boston University School of Theology. She is a musician, composer, quilt-maker, and bread-baker. She lives with her husband, Brian, in Vienna, and spends time in Wellington at their 226-year-old schoolhouse that they are renovating into a 3-season camp. She and Brian have three children, three children-in-law, two granddaughters, and a beloved standard poodle named Leo. We begin our celebration at noon with a potluck picnic followed by a 1:00 service.

Reeds Mill Church will be celebrating its inclusion in the National Historic Register during our Old Home Sunday gathering, August 30...potluck at noon, service at 1:00. We would like to compile short reflections about the church into a booklet, some of which would be read during the service. Although you may not attend services regularly, you may have once upon a time or maybe you were married in the church; maybe you attended Sunday School. Basically, we're looking for why the church, the history of this church, is important to the community. If you are interested in participating, please email your contribution (150 words +/-) to [email protected] no later than August 24. Thank you!
