Anthony Gayle Shelton
( January 28, 1936 - February 15, 2023 )

Anthony Gayle Shelton, 87, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at his home.

He was born on January 28, 1936, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Sarah Utley Shelton and Earl Shelton. He was a business owner of Sav-A-Lot in Madisonville, Vac-N-Sew in Madisonville, and many grocery businesses in Benton, KY, Clarksville, TN, and Hopkinsville, KY. He loved woodworking, drawing, painting, and music. His true passion was telling others about Jesus. He was a member of Grace Fellowship.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Shelton.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Annette Outlaw Shelton; daughter, Alice Marie Luckett of Madisonville; sons, Andrew (Laura) Ryan Shelton of Dallas, TX , Alex (Angela) Shelton of Birmingham, AL, and Aaron Shelton of Louisville, KY; brother, Roger Shelton of Madisonville; grandchildren, Tyler, Alexis, Ethan, Will, and Kinley; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Grace Fellowship Church, 260 W. McLaughlin Avenue, Madisonville, KY, with Pastor Phillip McCoy officiating. A burial will be held at a later date at Ford Cemetery in Benton, KY. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service hour Sunday at the church.

2929 shoeboxes! Thanks to everyone who packed a shoebox or volunteered in the drop off center. Thanks also to Todd’s Furniture for the use of the truck to deliver the boxes to the relay center in Princeton. Merry Christmas to you all.
