Come join us on April 11 for the 2026 Madisonville Cemetery Association Annual Membership meeting. The meeting will be held on April 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Our plans are to hold the meeting in the cemetery, at the chapel. However, in case of rain, our “back-up plan” is to move the meeting to Wesley Hall, located on the west side of the First Methodist Church.
If the weather cooperates, we’ll see you in the cemetery…otherwise, we will be at Wesley Hall. We hope to see you there.

From the Revolutionary War to present day conflicts, our veterans are devoted sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers. They come from all backgrounds in life to place those lives on the line for our freedoms. There are millions of individual stories to tell.

While we have Veterans Day in the fall and Memorial Day in the spring, our servicemen and women sacrifice their time and safety every single day of the year, to preserve our freedoms. In many American homes, every day there is an empty seat for one who is serving or one who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and never came home.

When a volunteer places a wreath on a veteran's grave on National Wreaths Across America Day, we encourage them to speak that veteran's name aloud, thank them for their service and sacrifice, and reflect on that person and their life. Wreaths Across America shows our veterans and their families that we will not forget—we will never forget.

Please consider joining us this at 10:00 AM, this Saturday, December 13, 2025, to help place the beautiful fresh balsam wreaths on each of our veteran's graves. We will gather at the chapel, in the southern part of the cemetery. We hope to see you there!

Hi folks. I wanted y’all to be aware of a new program that the Madisonville Cemetery is involved with. As you may know, an anonymous donor bought the 290 wreaths that we laid in the cemetery last month…and we APPRECIATE it! These wreaths were purchased through a national organization called Wreaths Across America.
It’s taken a while to get this in place but our cemetery is now set up with Wreaths Across America as a sponsorship group. This means that folks can purchase wreaths from WAA ($17 each) and the cemetery will benefit from it, in the form of additional wreaths.
We are set up under a “3 for 2” program. That means when you buy 2 wreaths, we actually get 3!
But…it gets better! Until January 17, 2025, Wreaths Across America will also match each wreath that is purchased! So, until next Friday, if you buys 2 wreaths, instead of getting 3, we will get 5 wreaths!!! What a deal…we just don’t have much time!
To take advantage of this offer you can:
1. Scan the QRcode in the flyer to go to our page on Wreath’s Across America’s website or
2. Follow this link to go to our page on their website:
www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/TX1410
3. Or, simply make a donation to a board member BEFORE Friday, January 17! We will handle the ordering for you.
All of the wreaths will be shipped to us next December, in time for placement before Christmas. We would love for you to join us at the wreath-laying ceremony!

Such a beautiful tribute, by an anonymous artist.

This beautiful guardian angel stands watch over Greer Cemetery in rural Madison County, Texas. She was carved out of a cedar tree damaged during a storm. Although the local artisan wishes to remain anonymous, this treasure deserves some exposure. Please visit this remarkable piece of art at Greer Cemetery.
