𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐋𝐒: 𝐀𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐬.
𝟏. 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐦- 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞. (plural) are the highest order of angels in the heavens. In other words, they are the closest to God. Their role is to exclusively worship the Lord and give thanks unto Him. The most well-known mention of Seraphim they are depicted surrounding God's throne, singing praises and declaring His holiness. Isaiah 6:1-7.
𝟐. 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐦 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 (plural) these beings are the second most powerful of Heaven’s orders of Angels. The Bible describes this group as nobly angelic, but mighty beings that encircle God’s throne. Cherubim’s are the guardians of the Ark of the Covenant, and the entrance to the Garden of Eden after “man” was driven out. Cherubim and their representations can be seen in broader spiritual contexts; Satan, as a fallen angel, is often believed to have originally been among the Cherubim before his rebellion.
"So, he drove out the man; and placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life." Genesis 3:24.
And you shall make two Cherubim of gold; of hammered work shall you make them. On the two ends of the mercy seat, you shall make the Cherubim... And the Cherubim shall stretch out their wings above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and they shall face one another; the faces of the Cherubim shall be toward the mercy seat." Exodus 25:18-20.
𝟑. 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬. 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲. are the third-ranking order of Angels that reside over the cosmos, especially where the material starts to take form. They also chant glories to God and remain in his presence always. The Thrones dispense God’s divine justice and maintain harmony in all of the universal laws of the cosmos. They are portrayed as great wheels comprising many eyes and sparkles with the color of burnished brass. If you could imagine giant Ferris Wheel, but alive and ready to do God’s work. Often called the Many-Eyed Ones, they have four wings and four faces. Verses in Revelation 4 describe how the creatures around the throne give glory to God, tying back to the concept of governance. Revelation 4.
𝟒. 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫. (plural) holds the fourth-ranking position in orders of Angels. Dominions govern over nations and decide the success or failure of a domain. They deliver justice, show mercy, and lead lower-ranking Angels. Often represented as holding a golden staff in their right hand and the Seal of God in the left. Dominion angels (or Lordships) are generally depicted as majestic, human-like beings representing authority, often dressed in white or shining armor, wearing crowns, and holding symbols of power like orbs, staffs, or scepters.
"For by him all things were created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him." Colossians 1:16.
𝟓. 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐞𝐬. 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐝'𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 are the fifth ranking order of Angels. The Virtues are a group of Angels that rule over miracles, blessings, grace, valor, and encouragement. Known as Brilliant or Shining Ones, they mainly help people struggling with their faith they are associated with God's power and are depicted as strong, glowing soldiers, often holding weapons that symbolize bravery. They govern elements like storms and planets.
𝟔. 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬. 𝐄𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝'𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐬. angels sixth ranking classification of angels credited as being created first by God. They are the elite sentry that hold a constant watch for demonic invasion into the world. They are also responsible for protecting our souls from acts of demonic evil. Because they are responsible for protecting the border between Heaven and Earth, they are the principal protection during heavenly warfare between good and evil. Upon our death, it is believed that it is the Powers that guide our soul’s transition to Heaven. “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord”. Romans 8:38-39.
𝟕. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬. 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬. Or Princes are the seventh in the orders of the Angels and are given more freedom than subsequent Angels. This group of Angles governs the responsibilities of the Angels that follow. They are also responsible for conducting divine acts of guidance and guardianship over world leaders. Often described as wearing what looks more like a soldier’s uniform, they are the order that helped David slay Goliath.
𝟖. 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐬. 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭. One of the most well-known and eighth in orders of angels. Archangels, however, are extraordinary beings, all of which are specific healing gifts. Each Archangel has a particular role and is acknowledged as extensions of God himself.
• The Warrior — Archangel Michael
• The Healer — Archangel Raphael
• The Messenger — Archangel Gabriel
• Angel of Beauty — Archangel Jophiel
• Angel of Nature and Animals — Archangel Ariel
• Angel of Relationships — Archangel Chamuel
• Angel of Death — Archangel Azreal
𝟗. 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐬. 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡, 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭. Guardian Angels, the last order of the angels, are divine, assisting beings. In some instances, a Guardian Angel will serve as an ethereal messenger to support and help. In other cases, they will transform and take visible form. Guardian Angels and Archangels interact the most with the earth and daily life. As we look up the sequence, you can see the transition from world assistance, to protecting the veils between realms and the cosmos, finally and ultimately reaching the job of only praising God.
