Tonight our youth group made cookies and brought baked goods to our Madison Fire Department.

We at West Madison Faith Community Church are deeply grateful for the men and women who willingly give their time and energy to serve our community. We especially want to thank them for their quick and organized response in helping to extinguish the fire at Trinity United Methodist Church in Madison.

We will continue to pray for the church members and all those in our community who have been affected by this loss.

We are also thankful that one of our church members and firefighter, Tim Cox, was able to give us a tour of the fire department. It was a meaningful reminder of the dedication and sacrifice shown by those who serve in public safety.

Thank you to all who serve in our fire department and all public safety roles for protecting and caring for our community.

Youth Group 05-14-2026

Tonight our youth group had a very eventful evening. Ashtyn, buddy and Bryson helped dig post holes for the new blessing box, we played Kahoot, and baked cookies for our local Madison Fire Department.

Tonight Alex shared from John 8:1–11. The Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery to Jesus and asked if she should be stoned according to the Law of Moses. Jesus responded, “Let the one who has no sin cast the first stone.” One by one, her accusers left.

Though the woman was guilty of sin, Jesus showed her mercy and said, “Neither do I condemn you, go now and leave your life of sin.” Jesus does the same for us through His death on the cross. That’s why John 3:17 says, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”

Jesus took our place and bore the punishment we deserve on the cross so that we could spend eternity with Him in heaven.

Tonight our youth group played camera hide and seek, and bring a random item to the youth group. The first game is hide and seek tag but with a camera. The second game, students bring a random item. The items are shown one at a time, everyone has water in there mouth and if you laugh you lose. Included below are a few photos of hide and seek, as well as the table of random items and karaoke during pizza!

The sermon was over John 6, the feeding of the five thousand. A large crowd followed Jesus and His disciples as they went to a mountain near the Sea of Galilee. Jesus looks at His disciple Philip and asks him, “Where shall we buy enough bread to feed all of these people?” Philip responded, “Eight months’ wages would not buy enough bread for each one to even have a bite!” Jesus was testing his faith by giving him an impossible task. He already knew the answer; He just wanted to see if Philip would rely on his own understanding.

When something feels impossible, or you feel you’ve been given too big of a job, God wants us to rely on Him by bringing Him what we have and trusting Him with the rest. This is exactly what His disciple Andrew did. Andrew brought five loaves of bread and two fish. It wasn’t enough, but it was all he had. Even though he didn’t know how Jesus would handle the situation, this is the kind of trust Jesus wants from us. By bringing Him what we have and trusting Him to do what we cannot.

Youth Group 04/24/2026

On Friday night, our youth group played the potato heist. A game where two people are blindfolded and armed with pool noodles and must defend the other players from stealing their potatoes. Every man for himself, the person with the most potatoes wins.

We continued our Bible study through the book of John. In John 5 we read how Jesus heals a paralytic man of 38 years who stayed at the pool of Bethesda. When Jesus healed the man He said something unique. “Get up, take your mat, and walk.” Why would Jesus tell the man to pick his mat up? The mat represented his old life. The place where he had been stuck waiting and hoping for healing that never came. By picking up his mat, the man was no longer bound there. He was healed and was able to move forward in life. That is what Jesus Christ does for us when we put our faith and trust in Him. He forgives us of our sin and wrong doing and gives us a new beginning.

Youth Group 4/9/26

Last night at youth group one of our church members Angi McKay graciously donated one of her many talents for an activity with our Youth. Angi made a few example paintings of cute Easter bunnies to allow our Youth to have a visual but show their own creativity in the process. It’s safe to say our Youth had fun!

For our Bible study we studied the most important event in human history. The resurrection of Jesus Christ in Matthew 28, and John 20. Because Jesus arose from the dead he defeated death and hell and took the punishment we deserve.
