It Is Not Too Late

It is not too late to begin, return, trust, or follow.

In this sermon, Pastor Mitch Taylor reflects on Abram stepping forward in faith, Sarah receiving what seemed impossible, and Jesus bringing healing where hope seemed gone.

This week, we are grateful for the kind of news that can brighten a whole birthday: someone in rehab is doing well, and we pray for continued strength, courage, and steady support.

We give thanks for new babies welcomed into the world, for families beginning beautiful new chapters, and for God’s covering love over these little ones all their days. We are also celebrating a milestone birthday, joyful visits, and the simple gift of fellowship when people are able to spend time together.

We give thanks for a young person’s first-place achievement in competition, for family time outdoors, and for safe travel on the water and on the road. We are also grateful for an internship opportunity that had been hoped and prayed for, and for the open door it represents.

And we are holding close those needing healing, health, and well-being this week, asking for patience, strength, and God’s gentle care in body, mind, and spirit.

June 7, 2026 – “It Is Not Too Late” – Pastor Mitch Taylor

Scripture readings: Psalm 33:1–12 · Genesis 12:1–9 · Romans 4:13–25 · Matthew 9:9–13, 18–26

Key Ideas: It is not too late to begin, return, trust, or follow. Abram steps forward in faith, Paul reminds us that God’s promise rests on grace, and Jesus calls Matthew and brings healing where hope seemed gone. Come be encouraged on the faith journey, and hear again that following Jesus can begin right where you are.

This week we are praying for safe travel for loved ones heading far from home, asking for protection, joy, and a smooth return. We are also holding close those dealing with addiction, and the families and friends who walk beside them with hope, worry, and love.

We are praying for people facing new and serious health concerns, for those recovering from infection and illness, and for continued healing where the road has been long. We give thanks for a successful procedure and for good care received, and we pray for someone preparing for dental work and another person adjusting after a heart procedure.

We are also holding close those carrying depression, grief, trauma, and the deep weight that can follow loss. And we give thanks for the joy of a birthday, for life, laughter, and the gift of being remembered and celebrated.
