I'm busy, this week, assembling the 60-page program booklet for The Starwood Festival.
I wanna tell ya, there's pretty much nothing like it! I mean, Starwood began with the 'Pagan festival' event model that arose back in the early 80s - workshops and program by day, rituals and music by night.
Starwood has spent the last 44 years developing and amplifying that model. Today we're a seven-day camp-out with four solid days of all-day program (100+ daytime programs), five fully-produced concert-stage shows, multiple acts on smaller stages, and an eletronica pavilion that runs (or at least strolls) all night.
Starwood is the core work of the Rosencomet Project, a 501c(3) organization devoted to the work. Nobody draws a salary or makes a living from Starwood - the money we may 'make' is always plowed-back into building the best possible program, and an organization that can sustain it.
As a result, perhaps, we have created a five-ring circus (3-rings isn't big enough) devoted to music, rhythm, alternative thought, magic and community.
When thinking about your vacation options... it's hard to beat.
