Faith Community Bible Church - Madison

Faith Community Bible Church - Madison A community of God's presence that worships the Lord and equips disciples. We believe all of God's Gifts of the Holy Spirit exist for our benefit today.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We agree with the historic confessions of the Trinity of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is both God and human, who came into the world to proclaim the Kingdom, begin the church, and bring salvation to all who will trust in him as Savior. We believe Faith Community Bible Church is a local expression of the church, which universally, is Christ's "body"

of believers. We believe that corporately and individually we are a priesthood of believers, of which Jesus Christ is the Head. We appoint leaders (elders & others) believing Jesus will direct us as a church through godly people. We believe the Lord Jesus is bringing His salvation to the lost; His healing and freedom to those in sin and bo***ge; and His wisdom and abilities to believers through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We believe the Holy Spirit empowers and makes effective our worship and work, as well as our fellowship with one another. Missions Statement: Why we believe in reaching into our community and the world with the Good News we have found ourselves in Jesus. The Holy Spirit: Who is the Person and the Work of the Holy Spirit in Scripture. What do the gifts of the Holy Spirit mean in the functioning of the local church? The Priesthood of all believers and the gifts of the Spirit in the life of FCBC. The Scripture and the Role of Women in Ministry: Why we believe women have an equal standing with men in being considered for leadership roles within the church.

But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don’t take yourself too seriously—
take God seriously.

The prophet Amos had strong words for his community - where there was a lot of religious-looking activity, having the appearance of faith, but to God, it was spiritually empty. Continuing our series on Following Jesus in a Fractured Democracy, Nathan will take us through Amos 5 this week as we look at the worship that is truly pleasing to God.

I will not listen to the music of your harps.
But let justice roll on like a river,
righteousness like a never-failing stream!"
