But God Ministries is happy to announce that we are preparing to build a new house in the village of Galette Chambon!

The man’s name is Gustave, he is 85 years old. His wife’s name is Damise, and she is 70 years old. They have five children. He owns a small piece of land. His wife does small jobs such as washing clothes. They have lived in this house made of dirt for decades. It is literally falling apart and they are not capable of repairing it anymore.

This donation is possible because a generous church sent the funds because they desire to minister to a family in great need of a house. Stay tuned for before and after photos coming soon!!

Each year, before ninth graders go to take the National Exams, the organization known as CLPGACH works with students throughout Galette Chambon and neighboring areas to prepare for the exams. They take practice tests, go over their results, do exercises to improve their understanding and comprehension in the various subjects tested, and they encourage them to do their best. Most of the leadership in this organization either graduated from BGM High School, or work for BGM as teachers in our schools. They do absolutely amazing work for the community and the students in multiple schools in the area. The CLPGACH organization has a slogan that they teach students in these classes. In Creole: "Se tet ki fè se panse ki chanje lemond!" Translated: “It is the mind that creates, and thoughts that change the world,” meaning intelligence, reflection, and ideas are what allow people to create things, make good decisions, and bring change to society.

Pictured here are the students who have been attending these classes this year to prepare for their exams. Many of them are BGM Students. Please be praying for them as they prepare. Also pray for the CLPGACH members as they work hard to prepare them! The organization likes to reward the students who score highest on the practice exam by giving them a special gift. In the past, it has been a calculator that they can use during their National Exam. It's a great honor and a huge help. If you would like to help support their efforts, you can send a donation to But God Ministries to the General Fund and in the comment box, put "Exam Prep".

Thank you to all who give to support BGM and the many ministries we continue to build in the villages of Galette Chambon and Thoman!

This past Saturday was a monumental day for these three young men who were part of the first graduating class at our BGM High School. They have been going to UPROH University ever since they received scholarships through a generous BGM Donor. Despite many challenges and changes over these last 4 years, these three young men forged ahead and graduated last Saturday. We have more graduating in the months ahead. This is so exciting....and it all came about because of SPONSORSHIP.

At But God Ministries, we have a sponsorship program that not only pays a child's tuition to school, but also pays for his uniform, school t-shirt, and books, but it also pays for all building needs, salaries of teaching staff, and FOOD....Food purchased every month goes to provide a hot meal not just to the sponsored students, but ALL of the students that go to our schools. Currently, in the Galette Chambon schools, only about half of the students are sponsored. There are many, many more who need sponsors. We don't put all of them on the website at once because we don't want to overwhelm people who are looking to choose a child to sponsor. However, at any given time, you should be able to find a child to sponsor on our website.

Please consider sponsoring a child TODAY. It makes all the difference in the world to these kids who work hard to do their best to become educated and make a difference in the future of their nation.

Go to the But God Ministries website and click on Sponsorship. Thank you!!

Our BGM Students in Galette Chambon have been working hard over the last couple of weeks as they take final exams for this school year. We pray for them daily that they would be protected and given the courage to continue on in their efforts to better themselves and their community through education.

It is amazing how hard working and efficient our sewing business is in preparing for next year’s uniforms. Now that all of the sponsored students are measured, the work moves to the next phase - organizing and packaging.

New Style Tailor Shop was started years ago as a business development effort in the village of Galette Chambon, and now it continues to employ individuals from the area. This is one of our former BGM Students who was trained to help run the distribution side of uniforms. He continues to work hard to make sure all of our uniforms are organized, labeled correctly, pressed, and packaged for distribution in the Fall.

We are so thankful for the guidance God has given us in preparing for future generations to carry on what He started. Thank you to New Style Taylor Shop as well for your dedication and determination to provide the best service and product possible to our BGM students!! Thank you JESUS!!

Congratulations to JEAN JUNIOR EXUME!!

Jean Junior went to BGM High School for several years, but was not sponsored until he started attending university with the other scholarship recipients. When he graduated from high school, he was #6 in his class. In 2022, BGM announced that there was a donor that had agreed to send funds annually to scholarship 13 graduates from BGM High School to UPROH University in Ganthier. Naturally, Jean Junior was selected.

Here is his interview from 2023 after being in college for a little over a year:

Jean Junior Exume is a 2022 graduate from BGM High School. He graduated #6 in his graduating class. He was not sponsored while he was in high school, but he worked hard every year to earn money doing any odd job he could find to pay for his school. When he heard that But God Ministries was offering scholarships to the top thirteen students in the first graduating class, he immediately went to the administration to find out where he stood in that list because he knew he had to be one of the top in his class, and this meant that he might be chosen for this amazing opportunity. During his senior year, he went with the others to visit Providence University to hear about their degree programs. He felt like all of his dreams were coming true as he listened to the administrator explain about the university. As he listened, he began to imagine himself sitting in one of those desks listening to the professors and taking notes as a college student. It had always been a dream of his
to go to college, but he had no idea how it was going to happen. Just getting to go and hear about the school was a dream come true. He decided that day that if he was chosen as one of the scholarship recipients, he would work harder than he had ever worked before to be in the top of his class in the university as well. This would be the way he would lead his family out of poverty. This would be the beginning of his future and seeing all of his hard work pay off. Jean Junior was and still is so excited about this opportunity to go to the university. He still finds it hard to believe that he is a college student now! He is grateful to But God Ministries for helping him make his dreams come true.

It has not been easy to continue in school over these past two years. The first year, was amazing because they were all able to stay in the dorms at the university together and discover what it was like to be college students. He felt proud to be one of the chosen 13, and he was determined to do his best, and he did!

As things began to get more and more dangerous in his country, many students in the university began to lose hope as they heard that the university was having to close the campus because of gang threats. Jean Junior decided that he would be a leader among his fellow students and he would find creative ways for them to continue being successful in school regardless of the difficult circumstances. When the university said they were going to switch to online classes, many students panicked, but Jean Junior reassured them that God would make a way. He found people in the village willing to help pay for data on a phone network and he set up a schedule between them all for when they would meet and attend their online classes. He would get up early in the morning and walk around the village looking for a good signal. Once he found one, he would text the other students and tell them where to meet and at what time so they could all log onto a hotspot he had acquired. They would gather in small groups according to their major and sit under a tree with their laptops open, watching the lecture their professor provided for them. This worked for several months, but when the gang entered the village, people had to move to safety, and Jean Junior’s family and several others decided to move to a safer area near Croix
des Bouquet. He hated having to leave his friends, but they had entered a time when they all just had to fend for themselves. The area where Jean Junior moved to had a very good signal and he was easily able to attend his online classes. He was thankful for that. He looked forward to the day when things would be more settled and they could attend classes in person again, but until then, he was determined to just work hard and not let anything stand in his way. He knew that with a degree in administration, there would be many options for him in the future. He has thought about becoming a school administrator one day or maybe even running a company or organization. He is not sure where this degree is going to lead him, but he knows that God has a plan to use his leadership skills in a big way one day. For now, he just needs to do his best in school.

God bless you Jean Junior! God has a wonderful plan for your life and your hard work and dedication is going to continue to pay off!

Congratulations to ROBERTO ERIUS!!

In 2016, when Roberto was 14 years old, he started school at BGM High School as an 8th grader. Then in 2018, received a sponsorship through But God Ministries. When he graduated from high school, he was #14 in his class. In 2022, BGM announced that there was a donor that had agreed to send funds annually to scholarship 13 graduates from BGM High School to UPROH University in Ganthier. Roberto desperately wanted one of these scholarships, but he was afraid he missed the mark. But God had other plans.....

Here is his interview from 2023 after being in college for a little over a year:

Roberto Erius is a 2022 graduate from BGM High School and a leader in his school and community. He was first sponsored in 2018 as a 10th grader after his siblings were sponsored. His parents wanted him to ask for sponsorship sooner, but he felt like it was more important for his younger siblings to be able to go to school first. He worked odd jobs to pay for his own school until it was finally his turn to get a sponsor.

Roberto loves to play soccer and learn! He even has a dream of one day helping to build a soccer stadium in his village. He believes that this could improve the community, provide jobs for people and an opportunity for the community to grow. He has lived in Galette Chambon with his parents, three sisters and three brothers his entire life until recently when the family had to evacuate due to gang violence. Roberto’s parents are farmers, which means their income hasn’t always been consistent, and finding work where they live now has been really hard, but Roberto has tried to encourage them and help the family in any way that he can. The decision to move was very difficult for Roberto because he loves to hang out with his friends, and his village is home to him. As a leader among the fourteen university students, it was hard for him to let go of his role and move to another area, but he realized that his family needed him more, and this would be a time when each university student would have to find a way to make it on their own.

Looking back to his graduation year, Roberto is still in awe that he was chosen as one of the thirteen graduates to receive a scholarship. He was number fourteen in his class, so when he heard that the top thirteen would be getting scholarships, he was afraid that he had missed the mark. However, he scored the second highest on his national exam not just at BGM High School but in the entire Ganthier area! He was hoping that this might push him up a little and make it possible to still get a scholarship anyway. Sure enough, one of the top thirteen moved with her family to another country after graduation, so Roberto moved up into the scholarship bracket! He was beyond excited to find out that he would have an opportunity to go to college on scholarship.

Roberto has always dreamed of becoming a doctor one day, so at first, he was disappointed to find out that Providence University didn’t have a medical degree program. But then he learned that he could get his bachelor’s degree in any area that might benefit him and then he could apply for medical school after that, so he chose
administration with a minor in biology. He believes that his gifts as a leader will be made stronger with a degree in administration, and adding in biology will help prepare him for his next step towards medical school. He hopes to not only become a doctor one day, but perhaps even a medical director or administrator of his own hospital. He would love to one day be an administrator at a teaching hospital! He just knows that if God has made a way for him to go to college, then the sky is the limit for him, and he is going to work very hard to see his dreams become a reality.

CONGRATULATIONS ROBERTO!!! God has great plans for you indeed and He will make a way for you to see your dreams come true!!
